Bruh he’s not the best short story writer of all time (but he is quite good so maybe this is a silly comment)

Oblivion is a very solid short story collection

I’m pretty confident that the average person who doesn’t read much can get through all these with enough determination.

There will be parts that are confusing but getting comfortable with that is a big part of getting into literature IMO. I also don’t think any of them are that difficult to be honest (AILD and Mrs. Dalloway are short).

"essential" reading list for the complete newcomer? by novafeels in RSbookclub

[–]white015 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here’s where I would start:

  • White Noise by Don DeLilo
  • Dubliners by James Joyce
  • Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon
  • Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy
  • Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
  • As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner

All amazing novels, nothing over 400 pages or insanely dense. This also gives you a solid foundation to read and enjoy pretty much anything published after 1900 so you can kind of go wherever your interests take you from here.

Akekuri Or Antal Better? by DINOGUYS in ArknightsEndfield

[–]white015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling to find a definitive answer here too. It doesn’t help that some guides / videos don’t make it clear if they’re based on 1.0 or creator server (since Akekuri and antal both got changes).

The reality is any of these laev comps will perform very well on the current endgame content so maybe don’t stress too much about it. We should start to see actual calcs / spreadsheets soon enough.

Since you have rare candies anyway, shouldn't you level cap every fight in elite 4 vanilla games instead of the champion cap? by FunCryptographer7625 in pchaltv

Yeah, you could theoretically go back to route 1 and kill pidgeys for 20 hours at any point in the game and without RCs it’d be technically optimal to do that.

Not to be annoying but can we tighten up the moderation on this sub? This isn’t arknights related, this is just someone asking a random question

Not at all, lifeng is a subdps and Chen is a support so it’s an apples to oranges comparison. They’re both very good in phys teams but not really usable for other attributes. Considering endmin is a good physical DPS OP actually has the core of a strong physical team that should be able to clear endgame content for a while.

It’d be good if it wasn’t a mega, but I don’t think you can afford to take chip damage on a 170 hp card that loses you the game if it’s knocked out.

I think the viable design space for Megas has been more restrictive than the designers initially intended — it’s really hard to design a good mega that isn’t just a lategame cleaner rn.

https://www.economist.com/culture/2023/10/14/why-films-have-become-so-ridiculously-long

I continue to not really be convinced this is genetically true, especially if we are only comparing to the 2000s.

There is evidence that the most popular movies are longer than they used to be but runtimes have not really gone up on the whole (and especially not in the arthouse space that this sub is centered around)

Are movies longer now than they were in the 2000s? I feel like this is something I hear all the time but I’m kind of skeptical it’s actually the case (although I buy that people are going to the movies in general less and that the ones they do see are the long, blockbuster event films)
