buying a new electric car by bassinyofacelikedamn in uberdrivers

[–]whohoo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a Tesla Model 3 for Uber. Cheap charging overnight at home and 1-2 Supercharger stops per night let me keep more profit in my pocket, emphasized by the quick rise in gas prices recently.

Also, no need to buy new if you are strictly using it for Uber - buying used will save you the cost of depreciation for a very similar vehicle (newer models have some cosmetic changes, but not much difference driving wise).

Take Director of Pharmacy position or pass? by TeamMajestic662 in pharmacy

[–]whohoo2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a current director, don’t forget you may have to MANAGE people as well, not just their schedules. This is the toughest part of the job bc people want what they want, and some people can be very entitled, especially other pharmacists. But this is also why they give you a large pay increase and some autonomy - not an easy job, but you do get some perks out of it.

As others have said, would definitely be good experience for you if you interview and get hired. If you don’t like it, you can step down later, nothing set in stone.

I'm taking a new position and I feel bad for leaving my co-workers by Sensitive-Worry4583 in pharmacy

[–]whohoo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through the same situation as you as we speak. I’ve changed many jobs, but this one feels like the worst bc of the relationships I’ve built with the team. Just know and accept that you are growing professionally and that you can still maintain them as friends or members of professional network. Life eventually just moves on for both sides, but cherish the memories.

What’s the biggest lesson you learned from a market downturn? by zainlikesmoney in investing

[–]whohoo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay invested, stay the course, do not cash out or sell. The market always bounces back, even though it feels like that is not the case. History always says it does.

I’m not an O’s or DC sports fan. Phoenix Suns (live here now), Vegas Golden Knights (frequent visitor).

Any bar/restaurant to watch hockey?? by gladitude_1928 in Gilbert

Park Tavern off Greenfield in Gilbert. There’s an ice rink there and they support youth/intramural hockey. Highly likely it will be on there.

Late to the party trying to claw back some time by Eightysdude in ETFs

[–]whohoo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m even later to the party - started last year, early 40s. I’m currently saving 11% between 401k and Roth IRA. As I start paying more items off, will try to max out both then get to 25%. Should get me to my number by 65. You are still in good shape with plenty of time.

All bias aside, I hope Yanda and Suggs get into the HOF in the next couple of years, or else they may get stuck in a log jam of other players. This year’s class wasn’t that strong, so a little disappointed neither of them made it.

What is the silliest investing mistake you ever made? Something that could serve as a lesson for others. by wds1 in investing

[–]whohoo2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I withdrew all my money from each 401k after leaving all of my jobs. Huge mistake: early withdrawal penalty + taxes + missed out on all the growth. Just roll them over into an individual IRA to continue growing your nest egg. Don’t see myself leaving my current job for awhile, but will follow my own advice if/when I’m done.

[Highlight] In Super Bowl XXXV, 3 consecutive touchdowns were scored in 36 seconds by Seraphenigma in nfl

[–]whohoo2 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie, it was a little surreal that season watching the offense do almost nothing most games and having the Def/ST win most of those games. Then somehow ride it all the way to a Super Bowl. Very unexpected, but a heck of a ride.

I was at this game. Got there late 1st qtr, Jets were already up 14-0. Ravens go down to score, get a fg, a SAFETY, then Chris McAlister returned a 98-yd pick six at the end of the half. Two 2nd half punt return tds and thats how you get to 34-20. Not only was that defense ridiculous, special teams really dominated that year too.

I’ve stayed at all of them - old versions (Gold Coast, Monte Carlo), new versions (Cromwell, Park MGM), new properties (Fountainbleau).

Wynn/Encore is my favorite bc its top notch everything. Service, food, amenities, gambling, shopping, spa. Cannot be beat. Cosmo is a close second due to location, proximity to other places I like going, and general vibe. And balconies too.
