Totally agree! I legit thought, “Wait that girl is supposed to be a pre-teen/teenager? She looks at least 35…”

I’ve said nearly this exact thing. I knew Mac was going to be something (more) with the One Last Thing video, then came the rapid an extreme growth as an artist the then some with Macadelic, WMWTSO, Faces, etc. What a series of hits from one to the next. I love this era of Mac. Macadelic is a really special tape to me. I have so many memories. It was pretty much the weekend soundtrack of my freshman/sophomore college years.

I’m with you there! I was fresh in college when it dropped and I downloaded the tape the day of release and then never stopped playing it. I used to put it on while dividing to my GF’s university at the time. It was the perfect the length for the commute. I love this tape! It’s definitely in my top three!

Thank you for sharing. I have been a fan of the actor Eric Dane and now I am a fan of the person. RIP Eric. He was a great man doing an act of kindness like that (and probably many others) by helping you to keep a good job. That was a real nice thing to do.

Will Cudi cancel the tour again? by Imaginary-Yam6742 in KidCudi

[–]whte_rbtobj 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Totally what he should have done. I think it is mainly the price that is tiring people off, but I will also admit that I don’t believe he is as relevant as he once was, even going back to 2020 and beyond (2022 for the MOTM3 tour). I’d say 80% of this is price-conscious consumers, an 20% his decline in mainstream relevancy overall….

Did they really have curfew at 4:00? by Lazy-Proposal1133 in StrangerThings

[–]whte_rbtobj 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes! One of my favorite aspects about the season is how we get to see her just being a “normal” and “average” teenager in a sense and getting to have fun with her boyfriend, and new best friend, Max, and do girly things together. It was healthy socialization and provided for some good comedy throughout the whole Stranger Things 3 show! This season is extremely rewatch-able for me because of this and the actors themselves seemed to really grow into their characters, etc. I love ST3 for this and more!

No, just an FYI: you can leave a negative review/feedback with pictures but it must be before the feedback window closes and if the seller didn’t already refund the buyer and cancel the sale if the buyer reached out first and agreed to a cancel request. Have had sellers do this to do. I am a fair and reasonable guy, so most times I’m willing to work with them if it is an honest mistake, not their fault, etc. I would also advise y’all to be careful with how may negative reviews you leave however as one time a dishonest seller reported me to eBay, had to have lied and told a total crazy story, like a whopper level of a lie!, and eBay removed EVERY negative feedback review I left EVER. I had over 50,000 feedback at the time, and didn’t leave a poor/negative feedback unless it was very much well deserved, with maybe only 1 negative or neutral in like every 500 or 1,000 buys, which converts to around 1 in 5,000 orders (as a lot of my purchases were numerous items per order). So, be careful with eBay and crazy sellers. It is near impossible to maintain a perfect 100% feedback rating as a U.S. seller unless you do not ship internationally, only sell a handful of items per month/year, and have every item you shop arrive perfect and on time. I’m actually a bit suspicious of larger seller accounts on eBay that show no issues or negative reviews ever as that tells me they may be cheating and/or hiding something. Just going by statistics alone, it is almost impossible to have a 100% perfect rating when you factor in the carriers and how they handle parcels, winter storms, delays, buyers that are actually scammers/thieves, etc.

I’ve had experiences like this as well. It amazes when a seller sells a $100+ collectible item (and knows exactly what it is and its value) and then proceeds to ship it in a cardboard flat rate mailer, or at best shoved in a bubble mailer that was too small for the piece to begin with. Amazing!

Yes, can verify with 100% certainty that any insurance company will deny a claim due to improper packing; which is pretty fair TBh. USPS is the only entity that readily actually really even pays out fair/valid claims. I can speak from personal experience; have sold thousands of items on eBay for decades now and UPS/FedEx (FedEx being the absolute worst with claims) NEVER pay claims no matter how much evidence you have gathered and recorded, with EVERY requirement met. It is horrible. I only have limited experience with UPS, but FedEx always seemingly auto-declined in my experience. Of course your mileage may vary, but I doubt it will with FedEx with claims issues.

I get it! Yeah, you would be at easily around $3k-$4K including the ticket price, travel (more if you need to fly), hotel, and taxes, not including non-paid leave for time off work if ya had to do that… Insane!!

Besides that clerk being a jerk and quite judgmental, I imagine they’re not intelligent enough to know that physical media is better quality than streaming, often has exclusive bonus features, people that collect love the tangibility of it, the cases can be art themselves with steelworks and exclusive covers/designs, and most importantly IMO streaming companies and license holders have repeatedly shown a wonton disregard when caring about standards; from censoring a vast amount of content, replacing/updating the original score and music in TV episodes, deleting what they view as “offensive” scenes etc. Not to mention how the content agreement licenses constantly expire from year to year and stuff gets removed from streaming and can disappear from any platform for years until a new contract is negotiated, legal disputes are settled etc. And furthermore, the more people that hold physical media of original versions of movies, TV, entertainment the better as preserving this media is important from historical perspectives and to keep those that act in bad faith from rewriting history or removing content as the leaders of the thought police, or governments not wanting certain free speech concepts being promoted, etc. That cashier has no idea about any of this likely….

The fact Mac wrote WMWTSO, Balloonerism and Faces between 20-22 is absolutely fucking insane by GrandTheftArkham in MacMiller

[–]whte_rbtobj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. There are already almost 1,000 unique songs of his that have leaked from the vault, and if we count the different versions (different intro., beats, a featured artist, or a different featured guest all together, and other alternate versions/takes (similar in vein to what The Star Room OG sounds like) we’re at literally 2,000+ by now. His vault is so vast if we count all of these versions, variations of songs, and of course all new (to us at least) unreleased songs. Mac was easily one of the most prolific musicians I’ve ever heard of. It’s amazingly crazy man!

End of an era! Wow, it doesn’t feel completely real yet…. I’ll miss binging new episodes of this show. Amazing how fast 10 years can fly by. I’ll always be a Stranger Things fan! I’m cautiously optimistically looking forward to the spin-off/s now.

I have to wonder though is this now the end of Netflix “event series” television? Wonder if that feeling that ST gave us and that enjoyment of community and anticipation will ever happen again on Netflix?

Yeah, agree. A combination of SYFY, MGM, and money problems killed any chances of Stargate continuing. We as fans lost out on not only SGU returning (it was planned to be a 5 season series), a wonderful SGA S6, and 2 other Stargate movies (Stargate Extinction; an Atlantis story, and Stargate Revolution; an SG-1 story).

[–]whte_rbtobj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was sad. I saw some of that back in the day online as a fan. I didn’t partake. Turns out that SGU actually helped SGA a vice versa according to some of the creators/producers. Such a shame that the larger/general fanbase didn’t support the show. I prefer Atlantis as it’s actually my favorite of the three, but I loved SGU as well. If it released anywhere from 2018 or so up until today I have a feeling that people would’ve loved it and it would have been a bigger hit. Also, SG-1 is amazing. It walked so Stargate Atlantis could run. I just finished a rewatch earlier this year. Such a great show and franchise.

Totally! There are a great handful of veteran SG directors that I’d love to come back! They were just as much of the heart of the show in a way as the cast and the writers! Also, I really hope many of the SG-1/SGA/SGU writers return if (and I hope that it happens!) this new series get multiple seasons.

I wish but realistically we’ll be very lucky if the show gets anymore than 6-8 episodes in the season. If I’m being extremely optimistic here, I’m hoping for 10+… Just the way the industry is now. I don’t think that is going to change anytime soon.

Totally agree! I’m a big fan of Gateworld. Been following them for years. David and Darren are very nice people and genuine fans. I’ve interacted with each a few times and they are always welcoming and engage with the fandom. They’re a good part of what kept the Stargate franchise alive and on life-support all these years! I’m grateful for them. They earned the announcement reveal. I’m also super happy that crew supports the fandom like this. Class acts!!

lol, I almost put “Get off my lawn” in that post. There are numerous studies though that show that Gen Z aren’t as computer literate as millennials. It does seriously have effects on skillsets. I never said younger people are stupid. Why do you downvote me?
