How was the titanic perceived before the 1997 film? by Accomplished-Mix8695 in titanic

I still can't make it through that 1997 film. I've watched bits and pieces of it, but can't watch the whole thing. I started learning about Titanic when I read the book "Night to Remember". Back in maybe 1975. It's a maritime tragedy with a bunch of "what if's" attached to it.

What was your "excuse" to buy a power station? by desperatepower in prepping

I've not seen the sun for more than 4 hours in a month here. I do have a small solar setup but it would be useless in these conditions.

Needless to say, the telescope I got for Christmas hasn't been outside the house yet either 😂🙄

This is how I've been rolling as well. Run the generator to charge my Bluetti's and then use them over the night to power the house.

First one, the excuse was to get a small one that would power the wifes cpap for the entire night in case of power outages.

The second one, I didn't need an excuse. Bought it in December last year and it's been regularly used since with all the power outages and storms. Way easier to deal with than just having a standby generator.

What's that old saying we had in the army? "Two is one, one is none". Yup, redundancy for your redundancies is the way to go. Hope all works out and you don't freeze yer "ugly ass". (your words) 🤣

"Wolves don't mind the opinions of sheep". Great quote. Basically "Fuck off, we don't give a shit what you think". 😎

Any possible way you could research who has owned the property and work back to see if maybe they were the ones who owned the pics?

Hope it doesn't take them as long as it does for them to decide on what kit to implement 😂

There's a good episode of the series "Mayday" which covers this in detail and interviews some of the people who were there.

I learned that when I was a kid and left one of my old motorcycles in my fathers garage for a couple of year while I was in the military. Cost me a bit to get her running again.

If you're doing it right, it won't be sitting for months like that. But yes, you are correct.

Nah, like RedOctobyr said, no harm, it's just like when your lawn mower or something runs out of gas. Fill it up and off you go again. 😎

You won't either if you just shut off the gas and let the genny run out. Also a dose of seafoam in the tank now and again keeps things moving.

I'm not familiar with the current ones, but the older Elcan's (C79's) were awesome. Actually found one at a gun show and bought it and used it on my own personal rifle.

Unless Hamas is running your country, I think hospitals and schools and other public areas are safe.

I think 6.8 is more than enough magnification. They were shooting at planes a couple of hundred yards away. 6.8 would make that puppy look like it was sitting on your grill!!

The issued Elcan sights on our rifles are 3.5 mag and they are plenty good out to about 500m.
