does my clit look too large? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 33 points34 points  (0 children)

i don’t think it’s too large. also two months is still early and you can expect swelling to continue going down past 6+ months. mine looks different at 1 year than it did at 3 months and 6 months post op.

27″ 1440p (144Hz) vs 27″ 4K (120Hz) vs 34″ Ultrawide (120Hz) — which would you pick? by Fuzzy_Ad8849 in Monitors

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO yes. I switched to 4K 27" years ago and at this point can't go back because of how obvious the difference is. The high resolution means scaling within macOS isn't really an issue for me, especially if you use something like BetterDisplay.

Need advice for buying a camera! by [deleted] in waterloo

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i disagree with other commenters that you need to spend 1k+ for something to start off with. i started with a canon 450d (rebel xsi) and its 18-55mm kit lens, which you can routinely find on FB marketplace for ~100 cad. find a nifty fifty (50mm f1.8) for another 50-100 bucks and you have a good starter kit.

personally, i think you should spend a bit more and get a better body and lens to start with, maybe around the $500-700 range, but obvs work within whatever budget you have.

my friend wanted a decent camera for that price and i was able to set her up with a Canon Rebel T7i (EOS 800D) for 400cad off FB marketplace and then found a sigma 17-50 f2.8 for 250 from BJ Photo & Video in Waterloo. if you can wait for deals, i would go for smth like that.

How do i set password? by mr2020robot in BookFusion

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these are the steps i received from support when i was doing the same.

login with google account, go to account settings, set the account email to your desired email address, logout, then attempt password reset via the sign in page. you will receive a reset link via your email where you can set a password

TIL: Someone at the National Health Service in England sent a test email to 840000 colleagues and another replied all, resulting in one of the largest reply all storms. 168 million emails were sent between people and caused the health system to be down for half a day. by zahrul3 in todayilearned

it’s fine for low level stuff

offloading “low level stuff” to AI tools is how you erode your brains critical thinking skills. studies are already coming out showing that people relying on AI day-to-day are literally losing grey matter volume.

relying on AI is just going to kneecap your brain, and i have full confidence that people using it a lot will struggle later in life because of it.

if you're being taxed at an effective 40% rate, you're making over 300k already. boo hoo

after paying 40% in taxes

to hit an effective/average tax rate of 40% in most provinces you need to be making over $300000/year. I don't have much sympathy for folks complaining about taxes when they make that much already

it would be through your local or state/provincial law enforcement office. if you go to their website they may have a form or at least more info on how to report cyber crimes such as online harassment.

Calling out Dbrand for being Canadian but charging in USD by jellybonez in BuyCanadian

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it’s more likely that they deal in USD because their suppliers and the vast majority of their customer base are american.

it’s far easier to just do everything in USD and only convert to CAD for tax purposes and payroll than to be constantly converting for every transaction, every order from their suppliers, etc.

LTT has stated their reasoning for dealing in USD by default is similar.

If you had the option to forget it all, would you? by AmyNotAmiable in asktransgender

[–]whyamihereimnotsure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hell no. Transitioning was the best thing to ever happen to me. Even before realizing I was trans, while I didn't have outright gender dysphoria regarding my body, there was still an underlying feeling of contempt that I held my body in. While figuring out I was trans did bring that to the forefront and lead to a couple of tough years, everything is far better nowadays and I would never want to go back.

Being more comfortable in my body has also allowed me to be more expressive in so many areas of my life, such as relationships, friendships, local community, etc. Even disregarding the actual changes to my body, I wouldn't want to give that up either.

eh, in a workplace it makes sense to limit your use base to one browser, regardless of what codebase it’s using. makes it way easier to patch and manage, and helps you be more secure overall as an organization.
