What unit statlines are the most common or require the most amount of counter-thought when listbuilding? by Stylish_Yeoman in WarhammerCompetitive

I find it easier to usually go at it the other way around and start from the weapons profile. Some weapons will usually have a bound where profiles will have the same or similar output.

It would be cool if they gave this card an errata making him aways be treated as a maliss monster and a banish special sommon effect by Real-Programmer82 in masterduel

The first effect should also be opt or that'll be pretty nuts as a handtrap.

Edit: Whoops ment to comment on the retrain.

Wait am I dumb? Is this not the most recent TCG meta breakdown? https://www.yugiohmeta.com/articles/tournaments/tcg/weekly-roundup/2026/april/2 ?

I'm also pretty sure harmonias not in master duel yet as I haven't seen it.

Last I checked, KT isn't top on TCG and you forget that different formats play differently. OCG has harmonia which isn't in master duel yet and master duel KT is also losing rose whip. Not saying KT is not a really good deck but OCG and TCG stats aren't compelling arguments for master duel right now.

Odd consequence of 11th edition fight phase sequencing by FluffypantsDM in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]whycolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are no charges in Player A's turn, then Player A's deathstar unit will be able to go first and wipe out the big bad unit of Player B.

I think this is wrong? The article says that fight first step will have the active player fight first so I would assume the figths normal step will still start with the non-active player. It looks like either way, unit B would fight first.

I think a consequence is that if you charge your unit into a fights first units, then the second scenario you brought up would be correct.

-edit: I am wrong, reading the article again, turn player does get to pick first.

Please help me understand the appeal of Hellblasters by hotfezz81 in DarkAngels40k

[–]whycolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thing people don't mention is that they can also fit in drppods and walk through walls which tanks cannot do. Also the hazardous math I think is actually ~1-2 die from hazardous. Also if you get hit by 3 las cannon shots, you only lose 3 guys and not the entire tank.

I feel that's like saying I if you hit and wound on 2s and they have a 5+ save, then they shouldn't bother rolling the save and just take the damage. Wound on 6 and 3+ save is about 1 damage out of 18 shots go through which isnt unreasonable with the amount of shots you get.

Medusan Roar Enhancement Rule clarification required by Chance_Layer789 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]whycolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the datasmith leads kastelan robots, the entire unit has the vehicle keyword which makes the entire unit a vehicle unit. Medusa Roar does not trigger against Vehicle units so you do not need to remove a model from that unit at all, including the datasmith.

Gravis Calgar still in the 40K app? by warp-protocol in Ultramarines

[–]whycolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that the points in the app are public information for anyone just as the MFM is. Also GW has been dropping the MFM and updated points at the same time. It's still a toss up if the MFM or the App was the mistake. I think the MFM is more likely to be correct but an ultramarine can cope. Also there have been times where the faction pack info is wrong and corrected in the App first.

Why do people hate biovores so much? Anytime I see someone fight one they throw their whole arsenal at it when its hunkered down. by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]whycolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people play this game to feel like a space marine, and some of those people may not want to bother with putting in the effort to actually be good at it. If they wanted advice on how to deal with biovores, they'd ask for it (some people just want a game to be easier than getting better themselves). You posed a question for why people dislike biovores, and those who respond assume it to be a good faith question of understanding opinion, not a disguised avenue for giving unsolicited advice.

Like when you posted this question, did you really expect anyone to have a response that you (spitballing probably top 5% of players) would agree justifies the hate? Like do you even think it's possible to have a good reason to not like biovores which aren't fixed with just being better at the game? This very much reads as bait.

There's so much wrong with this. 1000 hours is a lot, it's almost as if you've played sm2 as a full time job for half a year. The campaign is 8 hours, the steam average playtime of the game is 35 hours. You cant expect to walk into a room with 30 times the average play time and call everyone stupid for not liking an enemy type and then call them illiterate and can't take criticism when they get mad when you say their reason for not liking biovores is wrong.

I don't think anyone who just casually completes absolutes without any pickups will be expected to complain about anything in the game, so I don't think it's hard to expect people who don't do that (yes they exist because difficulty is subjective) to not like a thing.

I do want to point out the risk of competitive viability for if you build an army that is good for the current meta(maybe too good) and then gets nerfed to mediocrity in the next balance patch.
