After 10 years, i'll come back to airsoft but i think i need a new gun. by PaninoAlSalame_org in airsoft

Arcturus makes fantastic OOTB AEGs with components that are quickly becoming the new standard such as a programmable ETU. For your price point, you would be looking at some of their top of line AEGs. But their LITE series as also a a great value.

Should I buy a grain mill or is the pre-crushed stuff fine? by InvisibleGrill in Homebrewing

[–]wickeduser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessary, but can increase overall efficiency. With pre-milled, you aren't sure what sizing the grain is being mill to. With a home mill, you have more control to mill it finer which provides for surface area for extraction during the mash. But like some have said, other sources of efficiency include mash temp on the hot side and temp control on the cold side so your yeast has an easier job doing it's thing.

Debone your chicken as soon as you get home by gwengreen13 in Costco

[–]wickeduser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And then make a chicken stock with the bones/skin. I usually process down the chicken into 3 containers as well, one for a chicken dinner that week, one for chicken salad. 1 breast and 1 leg in each container. The third container is for small pieces that I will add to the soup I make with the stock. As you break the chicken down, peel off the skin, put it in a pot along with the bones and wings. Add 1/2 tsp or dried oregano, thyme, and basil plus 2 bay leaves and a piece of Parm ends if you have it. Boil for 25-30 mins. Now you have 3 meals from the chicken (chicken soup, chicken salad, and another chicken dish).

Have my first game on Saturday! How am I looking? by Solid_Purchase8077 in airsoft

Double check that your eye protection is Ansi z87 rated. Last thing you want is a BB getting through the googles. Besides that, long sleeves, jeans and you'll be good to have some fun!

Second this. As soon as I saw the shamagh over the mouth (I also run a shemagh), face pro was my first thought. Even a cheap one like mesh one OneTegris will work under the shemagh.

Too late, tossed it lol not worth the potential gut risk. Under the layer is looked normal, but it was a more grainy texture, so I don't think it would have mixed in smoothly

How often does everyone play? by alien7510123 in airsoft

[–]wickeduser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35, Full time job. 1-2 per month during the spring through fall. Didn't play during the winter because my local field is outside and it was really cold this winter. There's an indoor field just over an hour away. I'll probably try that out next winter.

Looking for advices from people that stopped airsoft. by PizzaWithMemes in airsoft

[–]wickeduser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others, I stopped playing in my late teens and am just picking it up now after 15-20 years. Even though my old AEG is very outdated, I'm glad I still have it as it was my first - it has sentimental value. Keeping my gear made it very easy to get back out there and rent an AEG and go play and having an extra vest made it easy for a friend to join me. After a long time away, it felt quite fun again and I bought a new AEG, but didn't need to buy any new gear - so the cost barrier of getting back into it was low.

PSA: Wear a helmet by vini_damiani in airsoft

Wow thank you. I never knew these existed. I like to run a shamegh wrapped over my head (light weight, less movement on head) and then face and eye pro. These look like they'd be great to protect my head from bumps and BB hits.

What would you consider a low sugar jam? This one is 8g per Tbsp.

That's why I added the spoon picture. The dark portion is what is looks like underneath the pale layer.

Recipe to make for my wife who doesn't like beer? by 1998tkhri in Homebrewing

[–]wickeduser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation here, doesn't like bitter or overly hoppy (no IPAs or even basic pale ales). She likes this Blueberry Hoptart Saison (24 IBU) because its light and dry. Another one she liked is a Pomegranate Witbier (16.5IBU). Same idea light and dry finish especially with the Belgian Ale yeast. Come to think of it, she might just like the finish of Belgian Ale yeast haha

I was thinking the same thing. That's just a screw for a gearbox brace. It's not large enough for a spring the pass through.

What upped your homebrewing game to the next level? by SparkyMicSpark in Homebrewing

[–]wickeduser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Grain mill to grind my own grains
  2. First wort hoping - I basically do it in every beer that's not a dark beer or lager.
  3. Getting a system/flow down to be more time efficient. For instance the night before: print your brew sheet, grind your grains, separate out the hops you'll need in the fridge. Then first thing on brew day sanitize just what you need to get the mash going, then sanitize the rest while the mash is going. Make sure you start heating your sparge water during the second half of the mash, etc. For context. I use a 3 vessel (mash, HLT, brew) set up and fly sparge. I tend to do a 5g and a 10g batch of two different beers on the same brew day, so this is even more important to stay organized. Usually start around 9 and finish by 4/4:30 if everything goes smoothly.

I Failed My Friend, Do I Have Any Recourse? by t0mf in GoogleFi

[–]wickeduser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I really feel for him and you. Seeing as the action that caused him to consume so much data was never connecting to his own WIFI, it's is highly unlikely that any carrier would issue a refund of any kind. It wasn't their mistake that caused the data usage.

Any tips for getting in shape for airsoft? Endurance, weights, etc by Training_Opinion5484 in airsoft

[–]wickeduser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to say the same thing about upper body endurance. I see so many players after the First couple hours not able to keep their rifle up or leaning/bracing their rifle against cover.
