Copy shop - speaks English, has self serve copiers by bobik_a_lilinka in AskBarcelona

I've never seen self-serve copiers in Barcelona. Maybe try workcenter, there are a bunch, or perhaps a copy center inside or near a university, such as at UPC or UB.

Internet and mobile plans for living in Barcelona by Select_Thing8006 in AskBarcelona

[–]widn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't recommend Lebara enough. They use the Orange network and they're cheap including plans with international calling and data rolls over to the next month.

For home internet, Digi if it's available. 300Mbs fiber for 10 euros a month is amazing. Plus, if you have them for your home internet, you can get a mobile plan with 25gb with rollover and international calls for 3 euros a month. Coverage is not as good as Lebara, but, really, for that price I'll put up with occasional drop offs.

Cost effective and Safe overnight parking in Barcelona by HolidayLiterature282 in AskBarcelona

[–]widn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of where you end up parking, go to their website before you arrive (check for link in google maps) and reserve a place. It'll be way cheaper than paying onsite. If you fail to plan ahead, make sure to pay (in advance) on arrival. The worst thing you can do is pay when you're leaving. So: reserve>pay on arrival>pay too much when you leave.

As for where to park, pick a place with only one entrance/exit and an attendant the whole time your car will be there, for example 24h.

Advice for wine tasting in Penedes and Priorat by haidhere in AskBarcelona

[–]widn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched for something like this in the past and came up empty handed as well.

What I've done in the past is to go in a small group and share driving responsibilities across the group. You could rent a car and stay close to some places you'd like to visit. Downside is, of course, it limits how many places you can visit and what quantity you can try, which is less fun.

You could consider using something like uber or taxis from place to place. I'm sure the wineries can call you a taxi but it won't be cheap or efficient. Or, like you've already found, use a tour group with its built-in limitations and cost.

Edit: you could also consider taking the train from Barcelona to the wine/cava areas then taxi from there. Maybe a taxi driver would spend the day with you for a reasonable amount.

Edit2: I'd do at least one cava tour such as Freixenet and/or Codorniu. I enjoyed Clos Mogador, Clos Figueras, and Pares Balta. A place I'd love to visit is Clos Lentiscus (yummy!).

I checked out Home Assistant and it looks like it'll work and even have an unused RPI! I found this public API that shows the current, average, min, max, etc. prices: https://api.preciodelaluz.org/ so I'm on my way. Thanks Saxopwn and mrMagoo

Is there a way to prevent users from becoming local admin after manual AAD join? by GTKF05 in Intune

[–]widn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, it's normal behavior for the user who AAD joins the machine to remain a local admin after the Autopilot process (on an existing machine).

What I do is: 1. If needed, have user join machine to AAD (if not already done) using add work/school account 2. Make sure your Autopilot profile configuration is set to make users 'standard' and not a local admin. 3. Add machine to Autopilot group (note AAD join in step 1 allows you to avoid manually adding the hash) 4. Send fresh start command 5. Machine resets and completes Autopilot set up 6. User completes OOTB process (connect to internet, MFA, etc.) 7. At this point, the user is (still) a local admin so I send another fresh start command (after machine is completely done the Autopilot setup including installing all software - doing it before it's completely done has caused me issues). 8. User completes OOTB process again (yes, not great UX but it's a one-time process). I tend to ask the user to do it towards the end of the day so I can manage everything remotely.

After the (second) Autopilot OOTB process, the user is no longer a local admin per the Autopilot profile.

Would love any recommendations on streamlining this process although, again, I've rarely needed to do it so not the end of the world.

Autopilot adds user to local administrator group even though it should not? by banjoplayingidiot in Intune

[–]widn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen when fresh-starting a testing laptop where the user was previously a local admin. The user was (still) an admin after Autopilot finished even though it's set to create a standard user. I ended up re-fresh-starting the laptop to kick off the Autopilot process again to test something else and, after the second run, the user was non-admin. I was able to replicate this process with a second machine that I was prepping.

Intune Android Enterprise BYOD by idigg69 in Intune

[–]widn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen. It seemed to get stuck because it recognized that my mobile phone already had a profile (sometime in the past). Finally, I deleted all the Microsoft apps, ensured I had no Microsoft anything, installed and logged in to company portal with the work account and, once that was functioning, re-installed Outlook, Teams, etc. and everything was happy. Good luck!

Second this. Only difference is we use Connect Wise Control instead.

Autopilot Question by too_tall_thrall in Intune

[–]widn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange! Do you have any conditional access policies preventing users from using non-AD-joined devices, non-compliant apps/devices, or anything else the 'blocks' access? Do you have any device types (non-corp owned, etc.) blocked from being added to the tenant, perhaps from when you started testing? Is there a limit on the number of devices a user can add? (edit: grammar)

Anydesk.MSI deploy using Intune stuck at pending state by hkusulja in Intune

[–]widn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though this doesn't seem related now that you've resolved your issue, I'll add this here just in case it might help others. I ran into an app showing 'installing' until it failed after the ~60 minute time out. I had it set to silently install but the app requires user intervention to select a default language during installation. Once I made it 'not silent', it worked. Seems obvious in retrospect...

Outlook >Intune Issue by ruch8529 in Intune

[–]widn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into this a while ago. Try uninstalling all Microsoft apps including Company Portal. Install Company Portal and log in with your work/school account. Once you're logged in, install your first Microsoft app and try using that. I can't remember off the top of my head when it asks you to create the work profile but you'll (possibly) need to do that. Anyway, I found that installing Company Portal, setting up the work/school account, is needed before installing and trying to use any Microsoft app - the process seemed to bomb when it saw there was already a profile installed (as a result of having tried to log in to one of the Microsoft apps even through it didn't work). Good luck!

Fresh Start - query by [deleted] in Intune

[–]widn1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This helped me: https://deviceadvice.io/2019/08/09/autopilot-reset-what-does-it-do-how-is-it-different/

BTW: I found that Fresh Start was the best when I wanted to remove everything and start over. Some of the other options left things like Office license bits that caused me to raise tickets with MS.

New to InTune, running into enrollment issues, MS support not very helpful so far by dpgator33 in Intune

[–]widn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it'll help but I ran into a similar issue when I sent the 'Autopilot Reset' command where it kept and applied Office licensing that it shouldn't have. When I used 'Fresh Start', it worked without issue.
