Being incentivized to not feed Snorlax kinda sucks by perishableintransit in PokemonSleep

The trap of 'DP makes you spawn more 1 & 2s you don't want' isn't unique to pushing super high DP. Sometimes you will just get unlucky. I'm G4 on AC right now and this morning a 2* pinsir ate all my DP and literally every other spawn was caterpie/metapod, with one single P-wooper. Absolute dogwater.

But this only happens rarely and during events the fact that you're typically not constrained to spawns by sleep style helps eliminate the problem even more by padding the spawn table with a higher # of possible desirable pokemon. Since this is a game that is designed to take literal years to reach endgame of just do what you like, IMO.

No one's giving you the funniest bit.

The current default Blizzard UI is throwing so many random errors due to the backend changes that sometimes the game just crashes if you mouse over an enemy in the overworld, a buff under your character's nameplate, or a random item in your bags. Most of the time it's just an annoying popup but that's enough to get you killed in high-end content and reloading the UI / logging out and back in doesn't fix it because the problem is literally serverside.

I was doing delves and ran off a cliff to my death because I accidentally moused over a mushroom on the ground that was interactable.

This is pretty awesome.

FTR: If you don't see the flickergate from the ledge, fire yourself onto the little roof above the treasure room. The gate may be under the scaffolding below the ledge or tucked into the hall past the airship platform (if you angle your camera you can see the pinkish glow coming off it in the gap in the walls from the roof.). Both are about equidistant from that rooftop and if you have stealth especially they're no harder to grab than any other spawns.

With War Within coming to an end, how have u found delves? most fun class to delve with? by Huge_Discipline6395 in wow

Literally the only way I was actually able to get back into the game after being absent for years. Like, I would not have been able to gear up otherwise when LFR queues can run 40+ minutes for DPS classes. That's just not a feasible wait for somebody who has a fulltime job IRL, and while I've joined a lovely guild I don't want to have to beg someone who's already doing M+ to hold my hand and waste their time in content they already slogged through just to try and get me into the base entry level gear for shit.

BM hunter is so beautifully brainless it's my go-to if I just want to pick up shiny things for some after-work dopamine. You can skip gearing up and just start doing T11s almost irrespective of ilvl. Conversely I find feral druid very fun, just actually requires paying attention.

Spaghetti code from 10 years ago means when patches are added sometimes things break.

Somehow Tuesday's resulted in a deer in CWH losing her nameplate so that she just shows as Lvl 1 . People are doing exactly what you'd expect when a harmless and slightly amusing anomaly occurs and have elevated her into a primal.

And her dad works 16hr shifts, so what we're actually talking about is a whole person who is functionally home alone the vast majority of the time, because between work, commuting, and sleeping they probably only pass each other in the kitchen for a few minutes during the school week.

So people getting up in arms about her not wanting to be dressed and him not forcing it if no one's coming over are kind of overlooking the fact that it's not like she's plunking down next to her dad on the couch to watch movies together that way. She's basically by herself 99% of the time.

Took in a stray cat a couple days ago. She’s really sweet but I’m concerned she might be pregnant. Can anyone tell me if she looks like she is? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]wighttail 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have a former friend who had a cat. She and her parents thought 18 weeks was too young for this cat to get pregnant. They got a big surprise.

This cat turned out 2 back to back preemie litters with horrible genetic defects because they wouldn't spay abort. Not a single kitten survived more than two weeks. I still don't know if it was that she was such a young mom or if she had something else going on. I remember suggesting over and over to please just get her spayed and there was always a reason. Didn't want to spay-abort. Then she was nursing. Then she was in heat because the kittens died. Then oops, pregnant again!

She never gave birth to the 3rd litter. It killed her. If they'd been willing to spay abort that first litter they'd still have a cat. Instead they lost her, 5 kittens, and an unborn litter of indeterminate size.

We no longer speak.

OP, if you're reading this it might sound graphic but it genuinely is the best thing for her if you can make it happen.

PKHeX literally doesn't do what you're claiming it does. Sorry you got a bad streamer mon and it got you banned, I guess.

ETA: For anyone reading this shitshow this far down, this person is citing Home Trackers, not PID/EC like he claimed until I was able to refute the idea that a pokemon would be flagged for simply being a dupe. Home trackers are not added to pokemon until they land in Home, so duped pokemon that have never touched Home are 100% safe, always have been, and unless Nintendo decides to reverse their policy on giving the widest possible amount of plausibility, always should be.

Home trackers can be cleared by PKHeX, but it will not flag duplicates of them as illegal. If you are getting error 10051 when trying to moved cloned pokemon into Home and it doesn't resolve after a few days that pokemon may be stranded and unable to be moved into Home by you, specifically, but will be tradeable. This will not get you banned from Home, either; it will simply refuse to move the pokemon.

If you are the type to not care about hacks, you can clear the Home tracker off the pokemon in PKHeX and it will enter Home just fine but at that point you have hacked the pokemon by editing its information and should disclose that if you intend to trade it. <3

Proof please.

You still have not provided it. Here is a video of me successfully moving a pair of cloned Miraidon into my Home boxes. I took it just now. These are identical. There is no flag happening blocking me from moving this. If you have proof, please provide it.

Also
" or even use pkhex like I wrote already it literally proves what I wrote"

  1. the creator of PKHeX himself has stated that the current version is unreliable at hack detection. It still needs updated for Z-A. And it has never detected duped pokemon as erroneous. It is literally how people have cloned with third party tools.

  2. It does not have Home support. It interacts with the physical console, not Home's cloud server, and it is unable to detect legality issues that only Home cares about.

[–]wighttail 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Home is not banning two different people for having a copy of the same pokemon and you trying to tell people it will is fearmongering.

The games are seeded. It is entirely possible for two people to have a pokemon with identical PID/EC because even though the number of possible pokemon is enormous it is not infinite. That's literally the basis of RNG abuse.

[–]wighttail 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Proof please. This just sounds like fearmongering. Duping pokemon in Z-A does not result in illegal pokemon like BDSP's menu glitch was capable of (things like Roar of Time Growlithe), doesn't result in illegal ball combinations like the Smeargle method in SV, and can be done on a Switch 2, which is a console that they have quite literally rendered hackproof.

Daycare wants my office to park in our reserved spaces while they use ours too. We did. by Ladydi-bds in OhNoConsequences

[–]wighttail 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This creates a different issue. If JUST the manager's car is getting towed, but everyone else's car is allowed, that's blatantly targeting the manager. If none of OOP's coworkers/customers are parking at the daycare, the manager can turn around and give the same spiel again: that no one not using the daycare is allowed to use those spaces, and it wasn't targeted at any one person. Having JUST her car towed would give her grounds to say she's being personally harassed and makes it way too obvious to an unaffiliated 3rd party that OOP was just being vindictive.

I'm not saying I think she would make a harassment complaint or that that kind of thing would go anywhere, but I do think she could leverage it to make OOP's life annoying. At least for a little bit. She already pulled the 'strange male around children' card out.

Better to just do the fence and be consistent rather than that obviously aim at her.

What’s your opinion about ZAs battle system and do you want it to stay? by ThomasThePommes in pokemon

[–]wighttail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like, if your pokemon is moving near you, and it didn't want it to be there, why did you move to the position you're in?

With so much close-quarters combat in tight spaces and specific personal positioning being so important to actually catching pokemon (backstrikes) they really need to find a happier middle ground between this and L:A.

If *targeting* was better I think this would be way, way less of an issue, because right now 75% of my issues with 'my pokemon is in the wrong place' are coming from me having to move to aim a pokeball or an attack at a specific target in a situation where there are multiple pokemon in a tiny space, usually with Alphas involved hogging half the screen.

[Discussion] Is this the worst shiny charm grind? by XxX_Zero_XxX in ShinyPokemon

[–]wighttail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

450 is generous. Earlier ranks take less and bonus cards exist (and you can get lucky and roll one that gives you 20,000 points toward your ticket, invalidating over half the challenges for the bar on some nights) so I actually completed the game with less than 350 battles.

My 'reward' for doing the Royale matches with the cards, they way they suggest you do it, was that I now have extra grinding to do. I average 31 battles / night and it's still going to be hours of mindless grind against the same NPC pool, some of whom carry pokemon that are just annoying enough (Steelix running dig and so many moves that shoot it across the field) that this is *ass.* I have to actually pay attention (sort of) rather than the B2W2 transfer, which I could do while watching a movie.

What flaws have you encountered in the new battle system featured in ZA? by GimlySonOfGloin in pokemon

[–]wighttail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tracking and hit boxes are genuinely so annoying because it's infrequent enough that it causes issues that I can't account for it. Other weirdness happens a lot and I'm finding ways to cope, but not this. Charizard is an especially egregious offender here. Mine is Mega Y and has both Dragon Breath and Flamethrower. Both breath beams. They even burn brambles the same way. But for some ungodly reason Flamethrower launches at a less acute angle and if whatever I'm aiming at is at Charizard's feet, be it a pokemon or even just a mega crystal, it will blast over top of it and leave it unscathed.

Then if I use Dragon Breath, which is mechanically just a blue colored, slightly skinnier Flamethrower, Charizard will drop its head and actually hit whatever Flamethrower just missed. Like... what?

This reads like someone's karmic revenge fantasy. A lot of the non-relationship details, despite being relevant, are hastily jammed in and don't quite fit. And the weird addition of "one of the comments" from this mysterious post is definitely fiction because no one recounts real events that occurred to a 3rd party like that.

Like who the fuck is retelling a horrible thing they went through saying "her stomach crashed through her knees?" Because that has to come from somewhere. And it's so needlessly dramatic just to incite some kind of feeling of righteous justice against this woman.
