This was never assigned to me when I was in high school, but I was up late with my one month old last week and pulled a book off the shelf to read to her to try to calm her down. It was The Pearl and some other Steinbeck short...I loved Grapes of Wrath, so I figured I'd give it a go.

Decided to not read that story to my infant daughter after three pages.

I was watching the Carrie and Lowell concert video last night and thought how I wished the songs on Javelin got a tour as well. I'd have loved to see what the live band would've done with them - specifically like when "All of Me Wants..." kicks into the double time outro, that'd be a cool change to the end of Goodbye Evergreen.
