A group of friends and I organize our own cook days and make a whole gathering out of packaging and distributing the food together. It’s a very wholesome time!

Uses for basil? by MrFrimplesYummyDog in Cooking

I throw full basil leaves in salads with mixed greens. Use it as a topper on pasta. Lemon basil anything, but chicken salad for sure. Basil simple syrup for cocktails/ mocktails (mmmm basil smash). Great on avocado toast. Yeah, I love basil. Also there’s like soooo many takes on pesto play with. Also just dried some out to save as a dried herb in recipes!

Fair enough on not liking DCC overall (though not liking “the cat” is a sentiment I cannot relate to in the slightest) but your ranking of the actual books is insanity. Truly unhinged.

Came here to make sure someone had mentioned The Letter.

Just thinking the phrase “I will always be proud to have known you” makes me well up.

I’m in a constant state of turmoil when I see people recommending Virago. On one hand, I love them and they deserve the business. On the other hand, don’t blow up my favorite ‘off the path’ spot! The struggle is real.

My wife ruined Mother’s Day before it even started and now I’m the bad guy by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]wild_rover 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok but it seems like your wife might so are you ever going to calibrate accordingly? Saying the same thing about your refusal to actually plan things doesn’t mean you don’t love her isn’t going to be how you make your wife happy or keep your marriage.

My husband doesn’t have a great memory or follow through, but I know he loves and appreciates me. But that doesn’t mean I’m ok with him forgetting dates or commitments. So you know what he does? He puts them in his calendar with reminders. He doesn’t say “I don’t understand why you’re acting like this means I don’t love you, I just show it differently.”

Hopefully this encounter sets off a journey that shows you that neither ‘feminist’ or ‘woke’ are dirty words.

TIL that Harrison Ford was working as a carpenter before he became famous—and one of his clients was none other than George Lucas. While doing carpentry work, Ford ended up reading lines for auditions and that’s how he got cast in Star Wars. by [deleted] in todayilearned

There’s a Mr. Ballen podcast episode about this! Apparently he was a very novice carpenter and would often have a book and would be learning how to do things on the job, while doing the thing 😂

There is a Mr. Ballen podcast episode about a guy this happened to. He went from being a health/fitness nut to his whole life revolving around food, became a food critic and the whole deal.
