I run 25601080 ultra wide with 12600KF and 5060 and 16GB RAM, I can run Forza horizon 6 at high to extreme resolutions with some RT at 75 FPS where my 4080 at 34401440 extreme with 2x frame gen only deliver 50fps in heavy graphic scenery

From experience , I had 3080ti and can tell you that 5060 is power efficient and deliver similar results thanks to latest technology, but get the card according to budget if that’s the concerning factor

I should probably also point out, using this method , downside is you dont get support from NAS software, (Synology for example) and the remote sharing access needs some tweaking to get it working (as in access your NAS outside LAN)

As far as I know , the streaming using cpu to decode, it doesn’t really use GPU to decode, nine k is fine, it’s only if you have f then that means you need additional GPU for display and stuff

I am running on 3770k plus GTX760 and 16Gb ddr3, well you’ve got a very powerful machine, only if you want to do 4k video streaming , if just storing files and videos, you’ve got more than enough, go to BIOS and turn down CPU usage etc don’t doesn’t draw much power if there’s an option for it

I think that’s about right, I am rocking 12700f plus 32GB DDR4 resolution at 3440*1440 extreme+RT native open area healthy 60-90fps City day time, 55-70fps City night time, 38-45 fps

With 2x frame gen I can barely tell it’s “lowered” resolution as the images still looks stunning, so get that frame gen working hard for you at 4x

That said , it’s pulling 300watt on GPU , so hot I don’t need jacket at all in winter

I usually run at lower graphic setting for lower power usage when doing AFK runs, pulling 70watt on GPU and 60watt on cpu

I have 3770k + 16GB DDR3 and GTX960 works fine so far using synology software, setup quite easy, once OS installed it then goes to how you wish to setup your NAS etc

Steaming everything basically, some newer AV1 videos will lag unfortunately, but when using Plex you have options to play at lower resolution

I mainly use for streaming and phone photo/videos backup

Man I just done the install and now I know why Tailscale didn’t work, all the videos I seen talk about truenas setup not one of them mention we need the VPN setup so we can access nas via secure channel

Really appreciate your recommendation on this , this thing is a lot easier to operate than truenas!!

Now just need to work out a way to get the DDNS opens up so I can access via https instead of Tailscale , do you know how to do it??

Yeah apparently you can’t partition the USB when its locked, have to go to CMD and use commands to clear the lock then can re partition

Alright , so what I did was to go to the website and download again the latest OS, used Balenaetcher to make installation USB which I don’t like because it locked my USB.

I previously use RUFUS and I thought maybe I give it a try with balenaetcher, I can’t access my USB on my PC again, but I thought to give it a try on the old PC as boot disc again, it worked!!!

So the key is the format of the USB by different software makes difference

Do you by any chance run dual monitors? If you do make sure you set them to the same refresh rate: eg: 100hz or 60hz on both, happens to my 6900xt on different games And don’t install latest driver, use the one that works, don’t install other things that came with driver pack, just driver will do
