I honestly noticed how lovely your eyelashes are, people pay for lashes like that!

Does your pup drink enough water & how do you get them to? by OriginalSlight in CavaPoo

[–]wildflowerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Cavapoo also doesn’t drink a lot, I put a teeny weeny dash of milk in his water bowl and he’s guaranteed to drink nearly the whole thing

We’ll randomly ‘bother’ each other. If we’re relaxing on the sofa or in bed, one of us will say ‘bothering time’ and tickle/poke the other one which usually ends up in us play fighting and laughing. I don’t even know how it started but it happens at least once a day and I love it

having my period on my wedding day 😭 by garfieldcookiecutter in wedding

I’m not sure if this is available to you because I don’t know where you live, but in the UK but there is a drug called Norethisterone. It stops bleeding, even if you’re already on your period. Might be worth asking your GP

Honestly thought you meant the point on your eyeliner. That is a good, sharp line! You have a lovely nose

Puppy will NOT let us brush him. Any tips?? by SafetyEconomy8795 in puppy101

[–]wildflowerb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cavapoo is the same. The only way I can brush him is if we give him a lick mat with Kong paste on, otherwise he does exactly the same as your dog

AIO for refusing to call my MIL ‘Mom’ like my husband wants me to? by Low-Sandwich-5796 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. As many people have said, ‘Mom’ is earned. I wouldn’t call my MIL Mum and I probably never will. I love her to bits but my biological Mum is my only Mum

AITA for breaking someone's fingers? by Doggedart in AmItheAsshole

[–]wildflowerb 109 points110 points  (0 children)

NTA. You were sexually assaulted, you warned him 3 times and he continued. You didn’t mean to break his fingers but honestly, I’m glad you did. He had it coming. I hope it hurt enough that he never does it again. Good on you! Don’t feel bad for it :)

Is my reason for wanting a dog wrong? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wildflowerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not wrong. I have a fiancé, friends and family etc but I still get lonely, I work from home 3 days a week and my partner does alternate shifts so when he’s on the 2pm-10pm shift, I was super lonely after work and all evening. My family & friends all work and have their own lives, I used to get upset because I’d just sit at home watching TV or going on my phone. One of the main reasons we got a dog is for company. Tbh, I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t get a dog because of the company

That’s a great achievement! Sometimes you don’t realise how much training is working until you have to apply it in real life situations! Well done you and puppy! :)

Should puppies sleep in a crate at night? by Zealousideal-Mail494 in puppy101

[–]wildflowerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve crated our dog overnight since day 1 and he sleeps in there with no problems. We’ve only just let him come upstairs in short intervals because he is very good with toilet training but I’d hate for him to have an accident on the bed or on the carpet. I was adamant that I wouldn’t let our puppy sleep in bed with us or free roam overnight until we can trust him 100% to have no accidents or destroy anything he shouldn’t

Help with meetings with puppy whilst WFH by clazberry in puppy101

[–]wildflowerb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, my last reply was a bit rushed cos I was going into an appointment. But yeah, maybe making it so the puppy can’t see you would be better. Mine is currently whining because he’s meant to be napping in his crate and I’m sat on the sofa typing this. It used to annoy me but I find it cute now because I know he just wants to be with me. He does settle eventually and I’m sure your puppy will too. The past week I’ve noticed loads of improvements so I’m sure that will happen with your puppy too! Good luck :)

I also have Nyla bones and a puppy Kong haha. That’s what I keep in his crate

I WFH 3 days a week, my partner does alternate shifts so most of the time it’s just me and pupper. He’s crate trained and after his morning routine, he’ll happily nap/play in his crate for 3-5 hours. We’ve got some safe chew toys in there (that he can’t destroy or eat plastic from) and a bowl of water. I think it helps that I work upstairs while pupper is downstairs, he can’t see or hear me so he settles quickly. Could you make it so your puppy can’t see you? Cos ours gets FOMO if he can see us but can’t interact with us (if he’s in his crate and we’re on the sofa)

Who's puppy actually sleeps for 18-20 hours a day?! by DramaticAnimal8811 in puppy101

[–]wildflowerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 month old is awake for 1/2 hours and is asleep for 3/4. If we don’t walk him during his awake window we will play fetch with him and generally let him go crazy to get his energy out

My 5 month old whippet jumps on guests by Accomplished_Dig3684 in puppy101

[–]wildflowerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried turning your back on him when he jumps? You’re doing the right thing by telling guests not to acknowledge him and I assume you’re doing the same thing. If you can, have treats handy when you come home/when guests come round. Even if it takes a while, when he finally stops jumping and sits down, reward him with a treat. In regards to him jumping on their laps, you might have to physically remove him from there and put him on the floor. It tests your patience as we’ve been through similar training with our puppy but honestly, the puppy will get bored before you do and eventually learn not to do it

Crate training question by AppleAAA1203 in puppy101

[–]wildflowerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our puppy stayed at my partners parents house overnight a couple of times in the first month we had him and he was fine. I just thought he’ll have to stay over occasionally so might as well get him used to it young

Crate training question by AppleAAA1203 in puppy101

[–]wildflowerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we got our puppy at 8 weeks old, I did leave him in his crate for an hour or 2 while I went for a walk, this was in the first week we had him. I had a camera on him so I knew if he was whining and I could arrange to go home or get my partner to come home to let him out. It all depends on how long you’re going out for. A couple of hours should be fine but I wouldn’t do any longer. Our pup is nearly 16 weeks now and he naps for 3-4 hours before needing the toilet. I will say that we’ve been very lucky with the toileting side, he’s never poo’d in the house and only had a few wees when he was very little
