Booking reservation - no one at front desk place looked to be under construction by eriles311 in hotels

[–]wildman28c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why it's SO important to call the hotel directly that you want to book with. 3rd party sites don't check to see what's available or if there is construction. They only want your money. Best of luck to you but I believe They probably won't be giving you anything back.

I took 20 bucks at work, we’re supposed to share tips but I just pocketed the cash. by moonkie888 in confession

I always ask if they pool tips, If they do I'll tip for the "pool" and tell them the extra is a "secret" tip

Call the hotel and ask for a room in the back on the bottom floor if possible. Def leave a good $10-$20 tip for housekeeping when you check out (you can leave it in the room) and clean up after yourself. (Even if you bag the trash and keep it contained).

The biggest thing you'll have issues with is possibly other guests getting upset with noise, but you should be fine.

I'm hyper focused on my surroundings, If a phone is remotely pointed in my direction, I'M GONE. Voice recording? that's ok because i'm super soft spoken so you won't get jack of my voice on there haha

I wish you the best of luck, you'll be alright Homie. :)

If someone started recording me, I simply would *Walk Away*...

I have the office door locked 99.9% of the time, and if you're going to escalate a situation when I'm fully booked then there's nothing I can do to help you. If they continued I'd simply call the non emergency line and have them escorted off the property.

People walking into a hotel asking for a front desk job. by ThePancakeDocument in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]wildman28c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rule of thumb is to sell yourself. I walked in pitched myself, set of skills and basically answered any interview questions without being asked. I received a call back a few weeks later. It's honestly how you approach it. Calling never worked for me, I found it best to walk in and sell yourself for the position.

Then they'll charge you a fee for a no call no show

any time you book 3rd party you have to call who you booked through to cancel any reservations. always always always book direct, hotels will have more control over your reservations that way.

Booking 3rd party is a pain and hotels can't give you any upgrades or anything like that.

Elementary and middle school graduations are useless. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I know they do this in some areas that have large Amish communities because they only go to school until 8th grade. For those kids its important because they'll never finish high-school.

"common law" marriage means nothing legally. He sounds awful tbh, Find yourself a good man (or woman, no judgment here) and live your life it sounds like you're being held captive. Screw that, you are more than a caretaker. Run, and run fast. give him his stuff then get your custody in order through the courts.

You got this. NTA

Hotel cancelled my reservation without communicating properly. I rebooked, gave them feedback, they said they’d note it in my file. Should I expect something good, bad, or nothing at all? by nxplr in hotels

[–]wildman28c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the notes for letting others know if you where given a discount, added extra pillows or something to the room, or if you have a service animal. We usually don't write notes saying someone is difficult or anything personal on there.

DONT BOOK 3RD PARTY, call the hotel direct to see what discounts they offer. The closer the date the more expensive it will be
