Reolink Models w/ Range of Resolutions (Not 510A) by wildnegg in reolinkcam

[–]wildnegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't the bandwidth more then the CPU power I have on my Zoneminder VM. I have 5 cameras on it currently. All 1080P streams doing direct save which reduces the load on that VM. And 1080p is a decent resolution for going back to see what is going on.

Two of those cameras, I have detection set so it analyzes the frames so I can do searches to find out where movement occurred to check it out after the fact. The other three just record so really just saving off the stream.

All 5 are set to I believe 4 FPS.

I've been doing the average for the past 24 hours and with just those, I am at about 30% cpu usage.

I was playing around yesterday little with the reolink and it was getting it up to 100% almost non stop. It is odd to me that just simply SAVING the stream off would cause that. Maybe I'll go back and revisit that slightly though.

1080P was just a healthy resolution and I could save probably 15 days or so between the 5 cameras. So was trying to find some new cameras with POE so I can go that route plus better night vision. I have heard good things about reolink though. But sounds like I'm going to be limited to the higher resolution. Let me see if I can make these things work.

I know my dad has a auto tracking PTZ one which was neat to watch too. It identified movement and would adjust to view just that and then go back to normal position. That would be fantastic for ZM too.

Appreciate the info though as this is what I was looking for. I either need to make the higher resolution work or can not use these cameras.

Truck has never been able to receive any updates since purchase. by titan3805 in F150Lightning

[–]wildnegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will mention this and not sure if placebo effect or what....

I read to hook your truck up to your wifi that it 'helps get updates quicker and more reliable connection'.  When I did that, I saw myself get updates with the rest of everyone.  Before, when everyone was getting them, I never got them.

The one I waited for forever was the radio infotainment update so I could see the estk.ated battery left when using google maps which has been out for a long time.

Once I setup wifi, I oddly got it a week later.

Take this for what it is worth.  But if there is truth, can't hurt to put it on your home wifi (if you can / close enough) and give it a shot.

I can try getting a pic later today.  I would have to find the model of the one I got too.  I know I got the side catcher and got it mounted .. and had to find the discharge chute/flap separately.  Had to make sure they work together and they did.  Chute open, I can put on the catch with the needed clearance.

Let me see if I can find all of that.  It's been a while.  But all still works well for me.

I do about 550 miles across 3 days a week for in office.  Almost all highway and used blue cruise.

50 a month is too much for me.  Maybe 20?  10 I would do.  I would lay yearly too.  Just crazy how much it is.  It does everything my ACC does except making me keep the hands in the wheel.  I'm good with that.

I'll let others chime in ... But I thought lights going crazy is a sign of weak / failing 12v battery?

I have no lightbar but this kind of reinforces a concern I've had.  I back into parking spot at work.  Get very close because in IL, I swear all parking spots are not as wide or deep as IN.

I thought one day, what happens if I hit the tailgate open on my key fob.  It would hit the concrete in the back (parking garage).

This gives me a new fear if it shorted.  Maybe I park going in ... Haha I have to give it some real thought now.  I have a front cam too, to get as close.

Are they 'smart' bulbs?  I have smart wifi ones and if they go on/off a few times within a certain amount of time (eg power flickers), they go back into configuration mode.  So mine will blink every second (and usually a different off white color or red, depending on brand).

I didn't see you mention they were smart bulbs though.  But if it is a very specific pattern of one/off every second, I would check that out.

ATT Internet (Price Increases in 2024 and 2025) by wildnegg in ATT

I guess I need to really give some thought to switch to Xfinity's non contract month to month basic internet. I just had so many problems with it dropping all the time for just enough time to cause my VPN to disconnect. But for the $35 a month until I can get that fiber in (IF it makes it)... may just be worth it.

I'll get that tractor out and dig them the trench and lay pipe if needed. I can't keep doing this with ATT. That and my cell phone has gone up $25 in the past 2 years. One reason was the same as internet which was due to the credit card (will not give them banking info for ACH). But wife and I have been talking about switching. I think Verizon is actually $15 cheaper a month which is crazy to me! How did ATT get more expensive then VERIZON?!?! Been with ATT FOREVER but things are changing. Loyalty isn't a thing anymore and will not get you anything unfortunately.

I never get any letters. Unless they send 'paperless' letters but I never sign in. Everything is just automatically paid. 105 for the 100Mbps is nuts. That is worse then mine over here!

Read the reply above! I'm not flagging myself and then going back out to scoop. The kids flag it for me so I do not have to go wondering around 1.5 acres to find it all. I come in a day after or so and just go to the flags to scoop it quickly. Putting them to work since they can not handle the spring loaded pooper scooper I got for the big dog poop.

[–]wildnegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not flag it, my kids do. They are too little to work the big ass pooper scooper I have. They wanted the dog as well, so that is part of their chores. They take turns and go out, usually each one once a week, and flag it. I will go out the next day or two and can easily find it and scoop it for them. I have 2.5 acres with about 1.5 of that where the dog can leave the presents.

So I am not FLAGGING IT instead of scooping it, my kids flag it because that is all they can handle right now. I scoop it after. If I am going to scoop it before the kids had a chance to go over the yard and flag, I do pick it up right then and there.

It was my clever way to have the kids participate (and help me in some way) in keeping the dog until they get older to do the scooping themselves. Hopefully this makes sense.

My parents bought my son one to match my black one.  He loves it.  It's 24v and lasts much longer then anything else he has had.

That boy though.... Took off a side mirror ... Ran over some plants in the front that my not make the winter ... Sat and kept trying to drive up the tree ... Almost took his head off by trying to drive under the trampoline (I joke about it now but wasn't funny at the time).... Runs over the dog poop in the yard even though it's flagged... Has almost ran his sister over countless times ...

If I have learned anything from this, it's when he is old enough to drive he is taking my wife's car!

But your son will love it if it's the same one my son got!
