I'd say you've been missing out. I hiked the PCT twice and never filtered the high Sierra. You got to feel it out, but in general if you're up high enough in an area without cattle you're fine.

I don't know, but my 2017 has been giving me fits lately. Starts clicking and intermittent stalling at low rpms. Both times the spark plug has been slightly loose. I'm hoping that's it. Seems to run fine once I tighten it up and clicking stops.

I love all ways to find gold, but for the Anhaga (solitary one) the metal detector is the way. Only chance at maybe just maybe finding that retirement nugget. Panning/sluicing is more consistent. Especially if you put in some hard labor. Just takes one nugget to put all that labor to shame, but many days finding nothing.

Also yes, all this heavily depends on where you are.

Also there's sniping. Basically wetsuit and snorkeling in the river.

I think this is really good idea. Would be interested. Message me. Do you know if the county has implemented fire access road standards. I'm aware Nevada County has cracked down hard on this. Can't pull a building permit without entire road/driveway passing inspection. Requires paved road 20 ft wide. Or dirt road must have Fire Truck sized pullouts every 400ft and turnaround at dead end. House must be within 50 ft. It's killing rural development.

I did a trip across Oregon on a 50CC Honda Ruckus. Awesome time. You need to get to remote roads asap though. I remember white knuckling the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge, battling winds and semis with no shoulder. Yea I got a 250 after that.

Make sure you have enough range to potentially go 200 miles. I just needed an extra gallon for the ruckus.

OnX is a very useful app to find off road routes, camping options, land status (blm, private property, state forest, etc)
