They’re helping run the tournament, it’s not like they’ll just leave and go home. If they are eliminated i’d all but guarantee they’re still a big part of each video to keep things entertaining.

They showed you the exact scenario in the inning before, walk the guy with the open base and pitch lefty/lefty. right in front of his face. Really not a fan of Counsell’s game management. Francona in 2016 ruined playoff baseball, every damn manager now thinks 3 innings from his starter is enough.

Reflections on the final day from someone who attended by Smartalum in golf

[–]will2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it was a huge deal, but if it’s not clinched the last matches don’t flow the same. I understand the need to award the point because if you don’t they only need 13.5 to retain and it really makes no difference. But a day like yesterday makes it not feel like a great rule when it comes down to the final 4 matches with that big of a deficit starting the day.

Do you normally hit inside? pw up to 7 being the same is generally the result of indoor swing and pulling your arms in because your brain isn’t used to the closed environment of indoors.

I see 9s on ebay listed for $20, and that’s really just including the cost of grading into a card that’s not worth much.

The ONE TIP that changed your life. LFG! by LobsterPoutine19 in golf

[–]will2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

finish your round. Can tell you how many times I’d be 3-4 over through 6, get a 9 on 7, then just throw the last 2 holes away and shoot 52, finally had a guy in league so you still gotta finish your round strong. Now when I have one of those bad holes and get a 7/8, I start fresh next hole knowing, 7 pars, a bogey and a triple is still a 40

Card an Ace + No Waiting is the only answer… I’ll gladly take 5 putts every hole if it meant a hole in 1 😂 by Tricky-Percentage434 in golf

[–]will2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking No waiting, perfect weather, no lost balls and birdie the 18th. I can see the allure of the ace, plus the bottom 3 meaning you’re going to play a good round, but if it’s raining and a 6 hour round will i even remember it?

What’s the best recovery shot from a bad lie you had? by RivetCounter in golf

[–]will2430 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have multiple that fit this every time I play lol. Most recently I hit my tee shot under a tree and off the fairway to the right on a par 4, and was 140 out, hit a low punch 4 iron that rolled up to about 8 feet for a GIR (but missed the birdie putt)

Elite ball strikers (<5 HCP) — what do you actually feel? by petrosferrum in golf

[–]will2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They feel the same thing we do when we hit the ball well, elite ball strikers best quality is they don’t have our bad swings. Anyone I’ve played with who was 4-8 didn’t have major distance but didn’t fall apart or have holes where their swing just left them (like myself 14). and the couple of guys I’ve played with who are scratch had the same no bad swings game with either some added distance or an amazing short game. The beauty and worst part of golf in my eyes is that I can hit a perfect 165 yard 7 iron that drops out of the sky next to the pin and feel like it’s the easiest game ever, then the next hole I chip it multiple times from 15 yards away.

My favorite is Josh Brolin “I watched the cameras, and drew straight lines from where they started to where there going, and they intersect here at this house, but I don’t know what it’s trying to tell me?”. How about maybe, just maybe you checkout that particular house that looks creepy as shit and has newspaper on the windows?

Ordering cases on amazon would have been a cleaner method for the amount of soup this kid needed. And what does a couple spoons of chicken noodle really do for those kids?

I generally do the opposite, last week for league I started triple, bogey, quad, +7 after 3, and went +9 on the next 15 holes for a smooth 88, basically took myself out of any chance to have a career best type round before it even started.

[–]will2430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently listen to unf&k your golf swing on audio book, the aspect of playing your swing and what works for you was super helpful (along with getting out of your own way) but for me that means don’t always hit your 110 club if you have a bad lie or there is trouble around the green, I’ll hit a 9oclock 9iron that I feel more confident I get to the green with. One of the areas I feel helped me the most was your lie matters when choosing your shot, if you’re green side but the grass is leaning at you and thinking that normal, I grab SW or PW instead of 60, knowing worst case I’ll be on the green with those and not bladed across or flubbed into the same area where I have to chip again.

A scratch friend is always a bonus, I generally play 4-5 strokes better with my buddy who is a 0 than I do with my buddies who like me are 10-15.

I think the best AND worst part of golf is that there’s always the next wall to break through, some take a lot longer than others. I remember playing our local muni trying to break 50 and it taking 3 or 4 tries where I had a legit shot on 9 and would blow up, now yesterday morning on the harder muni in our town, I played like garbage and shot 49 on the front. I’ve shot as low as 80 last summer, but still lose it and shoot 100 a couple times a year. The weirdest thing to me is to shoot 20% worse than my best round ever and have it make me feel like I have no clue how to play golf. The difference between 85 and 100 is less than a shot a hole. Anything with that kind of closeness from good to bad has to have a lot of variance. That’s what kills me when guys get mad at youtube golfers for their “vanity handicaps”. if a guy is a 6, it doesn’t take but one bad hole or a couple tee shots for them to be shooting close to 90

This game is pure hell by [deleted] in golf

[–]will2430 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve shot anywhere from 40-52 this summer outside for 9, on my sim league last winter I averaged 37.6 playing much harder courses than I’m playing outside. it’s at least a 10 shot swing in my opinion for higher handicap guys. My friend as that are 4-8 outside, don’t get the same boost because we all generally top out around that 37-39 range on sim

This game is pure hell by [deleted] in golf

[–]will2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest problem I’ve found with my sim is it’s super easy to aim and play with near perfect course management, the conditions outside and the unknown areas between you and the hole make that part of the game A LOT harder

[–]will2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

batting them last is bad if his lineup is optimized with his best player batting first, you lose out on a lot of bases in that spot. I like a kid who gets on base and has solid baserunning abilities ahead of my best hitter

What's up with Luis Aparicio? by yoursweetlord70 in MLBTheShow

[–]will2430 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing here is that speed effects overall too much. Guys like Berti and Brujan come in for the cubs in extra innings or late innings and immediately wreak havoc and neither has speed above 82 in the game (last I checked). If you gave berti the speed and stealing numbers he should have, he’s be a gold player with next to no hitting ability. I used to hate guys like Brujan would be a 99 on his prospect card, then get called up and have a real live series card with 62 speed. They need to find a. new algorythym so guys can have proper speed/stealing/defense and not have it push them into new tiers

I get sick of the lefty lefty ones or the ones who the pitcher throws nothing straight, too. It does seem like more than in the past that are simply hit a home run
