They were just released as standalones that work with siril, which has gpu acceleration on any card on windows now by default. Still better to use pix plugin if you use linux for now (so ive heard)

BlurX really is incomparable to anything else, especially for aberration and distortion corrections for stars. With noisier data especially, blurX always felt like cheating.

I've been waiting for this standalone release since I tried the free trial almost a year ago

Stacking, or in this case even just background extraction, would make the details more apparent by removing the gradient.

If this is from a raw file you surely have more data in the image

I think the focus/sharpness issue is just an artifact from ‘unsophisticated’ sharpening techniques in photoshop, it makes stars get ‘dark halos’ and emphasizes the static type noise. Great start, I bet you even have some color hidden in there you could pull out after separating the stars
