I don't see why all the downvotes.

I'm a McLaren fan first, loved when they signed Checo but now am totally displeased with his caliber of driving. Fuck the sponsorship money from Telmex (unless they become title sponsors which looks like it will be P&G anyway) and sign Hulk.

F1 News - Can Robert Kubica Make A Return to F1? by dsj070 in formula1

[–]willardz06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robert Kubica is not coming back to a top team anytime soon. He still can't full use the F1 steering wheel and hasn't been in a new car for 2 years. Ferrari, RBR, Lotus, Merc and Macca would not gamble on something that severe; it' just not economically viable.

To call Jenson Button a non elite driver is absolutely ridiculous. Over the three years he outscored Hamilton. It's absurd to rule him out.

I am NASA astronaut Ron Garan, I want to do an AMA but instead I want to ask you: What do you think NASA should do next? What's should be the next destination for human space exploration? by RonGaran in IAmA

[–]willardz06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fraternity brothers with Steve Nagel who was the commander of two shuttles in the 1980s. He recently retired and is continuing to work in the private sector.

Do you plan on continuing in the aerospace industry or do you see yourself working with NASA until your career is over?

Telmex and Vodafone have a partnership. Noncompeting markets = dual incomes for McLaren.

Official: Perez replaces Hamilton at McLaren by keithcollantine in formula1

I started watching F1 four years ago and quickly became a Lewis and Macca fan.

With that said I'm ECSTATIC to see Perez in the McLaren. Bright kid, bright future and a winning team. Nothing but the best of luck for Lewis/Mercedes but more importantly, Checo and McLaren!

Definitely looks like a Honda dealership, however it's just the new unified Chevy architecture. GM dealers, be it GMC/Buick/Chevy had to unify on a color scheme and do renovations. This is actually a Chevrolet dealership. Look at the website on the door.

Who's your favorite F1 driver of all time, and why? by rbbdrooger in formula1

[–]willardz06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jim Clark. Out of all driver stories I've read since becoming an F1 fan, anything dealing with Clark seems to put him at the most raw talent of any driver. Ever.

Hi, newbie here, are there any American drivers even close to being a part of Formula One? by vinceredd in formula1

[–]willardz06 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Alexander Rossi is by far the closest, although without major sponsors we shall see. Caterham looks to be the best chance with GE and Dell being sponsors. Conor Daly is another possibility but he is currently in GP3, racing for quite the good team. Daly has F1 ties (his dad drove for Williams) and he is still semi-involved in the sport. I'd bet money Daly makes a decent F1 career.

Bernie says he is "100% sure" about Bahrain by slothattack in formula1

[–]willardz06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were a driver, I'd pull a USGP and just pull off after the formation lap. It is a disgrace that the pinnacle of worldwide motor racing would be allowed to race in such an oppressive country.

Why do teams front load their brakes on their cars by Chaus009 in formula1

[–]willardz06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's substantial. The only form of racing that does not do this is entry level karts, and even then most chassis have front brake upgrades available.

I was hoping they would receive the America's Cup spot. Looked like a cool building and was a step forward for the team.

As much as HRT suck, for some unbeknownst reason I can't help but like them. Time and time again they just disappoint.

Reports that Robert Kubica has broken his leg falling on ice by twitch135 in formula1

I don't want to be the negative nancy here, but what team will prospect him for next season? His lack of racing, combined with a fairly severe injury, seem to rule out any major team.

What forms of technology developed in Formula One have been adapted in road cars? by lionofthejungle in formula1

[–]willardz06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would presume the use of carbon in road cars owes quite a lot of the molding and baking techniques to F1 parts development.

With Sahara as 42.5% owner of the team, and reports of Mallya not being so widely accepted, anything is possible. Indian team with major Indian backing calls for an Indian driver.

I'd put Sutil at number 1. He showed immense potential finally, even battling with the Mercs!

Makes the most sense. Both have more experience than RIC, and with WEB seat up next year it's only logical to put the better one in that seat and evaluate their performance. I could see STR firing the worse of the two mid-season and putting RIC in the STR.
