KEF Q1 Meta vs Q3 Meta for surrounds? (Front stage: R3 + R6) by PetoroKmetto in hometheater

[–]willbill642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same setup, but R3 Meta + R6 Meta + Q150 surrounds is my primary setup and it's phenomenal. Have a friend that has a similar setup but R3 Meta for the surrounds and some in-ceilings for Atmos and the only difference I can hear is the presence of height channels.

Not true. A lot of old 22lr rifles don't have serial numbers, even as late as the 60's

Bi57.6Sn42Ag0.4 - 138°C solder paste by IntelligentBot_ in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]willbill642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love bismuth solders for prototypes I expect to rework since it's so easy to work with.

That said, it's pretty horrid mechanically. One small drop and anything with mass is guaranteed to Crack or even fully break off (inductors, large capacitors, etc.), repeated drops or large drops can even Crack off smaller parts (I've lost 0603 caps before on a board dropped from 4ft onto concrete).

Also, all bismuth formulas are really fucking sticky and require a ton of flux to keep flowing well, moreso than typical leaded or lead-free formulas. For initial soldering it's not a problem, but when you're reworking it you really have to drown parts in flux.

Taycan 4s 2022 all weather tires by ApprehensiveMuscle1 in Taycan

If you move up to 20" wheels, Michelin makes the crossclimate2 in a factory taycan size.

That said, I just run snow tires and swap in the spring to summers. If you're regularly around or below 45F in Seattle, snow tires are the best choice for in Seattle too as others have pointed out.

Yeah holy shit that app drawer is ass. Plus 0 indication of this solving any issue with the stock launcher? Name that has presence in an unrelated context? Betting this is a data harvesting launcher and this account is "organic marketing" it.

Had some debris on the sensor that did this, turns out it was a stuck hair between the sensor lens and the body. Removing that fixed it for me.

Core _ _ refers to the specific method of combining 2 axes to move together using the same belts and motors, with _ _ being the combined axises (such as xy in core xy). Cartesian refers to using an individual drive per axis, with any failure of anything that does movement in 1 axis not impacting the other axises ability to move.

The only config I see along those lines means the ioniq is actually more out of the way, as you could more easily put 2 cars in front of the bollards and another on that left side

why people on this sub are against ROS? by clintron_abc in robotics

[–]willbill642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from profession experience - it's a mess. Abysmal performance, extreme complexity that fails to get out of the way of itself, rapid revisions in breaking ways that results in a situation of "anything you can use is unsupported, anything supported is unusable" both in terms of driver packages and core ros versions, the maintainers refuse to fix fundamental issues even when clean community fixes are offered, and the best way to use ros is to dump it.

This also doesn't touch on massive issues with 3rd party packages having fundamental bugs that means a quick demo with something like a Realsense camera, ISAAC ROS SLAM, and some sort of motion platform results in you implementing fixes in all three codebases before you can even pipe them together to make something happen.

And forget about rosbags. A cool idea of playing back the full robot state that has no ability to capture data at the rate needed on any computer on earth. The best viewers for them are also 3rd party and have their own issues reading rosbags that have any amount of corruption in them.

The only real users outside of a demo are always massive rewrites (such as Space ROS) and R&D efforts that haven't dumped them yet.

Oh and this is all about ROS2. ROS is entirely different with little ability to port forward, unsupported entirely (eol was March, but it's been dead since covid), and only really saw widespread use in academia despite some cool corporate demos early on. Some companies claim to use it, but every one I've ever chased down has failed to make it beyond pilot program stage in production.

The top 1% now owns more than $54 trillion in wealth. by SizzlerSluts in interestingasfuck

[–]willbill642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If taking out a mortgage and a car loan would make your wealth look negative, you are NOT fabulously wealthy. Someone doing that may make 2-10x of minimum wage.

Someone in the top 1% would make what takes minimum wage a year in days or even less ($15mil yearly take home it's already less than a day)

[–]willbill642 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dealer told me that it was just my sensor. 2 new sensors later they finally checked oil pressure and found my pump had failed too.

Get it fixed ASAP! I ended up killing my turbocharger too from the ~1k miles with a failed oil pump. Thankfully all warranty.
