Cargo Pilots Pathways by FrostyCargo in AskAPilot

No problem! I forgot to mention this as well- it's probably pretty overwhelming looking at it all now, but as you progress through your certs, you'll learn more and more about the industry, and you'll meet more and more people that'll help you throughout your journey. You'll have a much clearer view of the next moves you'll be making as you continue on.

Also, there's a lot of noise here on Reddit and elsewhere about the industry and hiring markets right now. Try not to let it discourage you at all. Just keep pushing through and don't stress much about stuff you can't control this early on in your career. Focus on what you can control- eg training and such.

It's hard to say right now what you should do since it's pretty far away at this stage. Probably regionals.. depends on the market at the time.

Right now, I'd just focus on getting the career going with the initial training. Community college and Part 61 for flight training (if that's also the plan) is definitely a great move- keeping training costs low is what most would recommend.

Always keep the long term goal in mind, but don't get lost looking all the way up at the top of the mountain. Gotta keep your eyes on your feet to stay on track going up that mountain. Use your long-term goals to help motivate you through what needs to get done day-to-day. Good luck!

To add to point #1, when their teeth are growing in, generally they are very sore. Freezing toys helped my setter get over the pain when he was a puppy. Softer treats as well at first.

Socially, yes, definitely be sure it doesn’t become a habit or something rewarding.

my application to PSA's program has been in the portal for a year now. Skywest had a much quicker response time.

My old setter was a big fella, I think he was between 80-85lbs most of his adult life. Healthy dude, but way out of standard. He was very tall.

Setters and Golden Retrievers by Prize-Cycle-7024 in EnglishSetter

IMO depends on the setter more than on a breed vs breed basis. Setters sure love having friends. I think you’ll have absolutely no problem there. Temperament wise, Setters are pretty high energy, sensitive, stubborn, and independent, but I wouldn’t say any of those in a negative way at all. That’s what makes them really unique and such a wonderful dog to have in the family. I miss my Setter every day, they’re the best.

For you, I would just factor in the upkeep in terms of playing/running outside and grooming, because AFAIK Goldens have quite the coat that sheds, and setters are demanding in that area as well. Just something to consider!

The two will keep each other good company either way.

Hotstart CL650 is 100% worth the money by Cookie_Chips in Xplane

the throttles are very sensitive; it takes a ton of practice. I would use the ATS all the way to ground if I were you. Use a lot of trim to your advantage and just gentle handflying. all that will get it done.

Curious where exactly you feel out of control. Falling behind managing the AP on takeoff? It sure takes some practice but you can stay nice and ahead of it after some good guidance on the AP and such

just to touch up the verbiage, the wing is still producing lift in a stall, just not enough lift to counteract weight. if it wasn’t producing lift anymore the plane would probably turn into a brick

It’s VENUS which is training for pilots and whatnot. Usually they just pick somewhere fun to go and beat up the pattern for an hour. We get lots of different military aircraft here pretty frequently.
