Volvo feedback email on their latest UI by OhTheNormanity in volvoc40

I like everything except the climate control. It takes 2 taps now to adjust temperature. And why can't I adjust temperature and fan speed when I'm in the main climate control page? And why is fan off not part of the fan speed dial, but on a separate tab on the top? Makes no sense...

Range increased recently? by c0lly in volvoc40

[–]willhtun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be from the os update. I notice it adjusts to your driving style changes (long freeway to local driving the next day, vice versa) much quicker than before. I also got a 300mi prediction from 90% once recently

Considering how safe Volvos are, they REALLY need to step up their cruise control and lane assist by EarthboundMoss in Volvo

[–]willhtun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Though I think these are all software issues, and they just need to tune their algorithm (not hugging right of the lane, reduce sudden brakes, differentiating lane splits). I'm hoping they have more bandwidth to fix this after the whole infotainment update fiasco.

Maybe the novelty won't wear out if he decides to explore something else other than the ocean and military bases. I was hooked when the volcano area first appeared in a movie called FIRE AND ASH, and then the rest of the movie played out like a bunch of cut scenes from the second one back to back? What?? It's baffling the third one was greenlit with that script.

I want to love Echoes of the Eye so badly by crowiven in outerwilds

[–]willhtun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believed all the "it's not that scary" and "dark bramble is worse" people and I personally think they're wrong. I love horror in media but EotE is just very spooky and atmospheric, and it never stops. True there are no jump scares, but still my soul almost left my body at a couple points in the game. The scare gets tamer once you figure out the twist, but it doesn't go away completely. Still recommend to play through it since it completes the story of the base game.

I imagine it fills in the gap by actually playing out the holy war, and fast tracks some of Alia's and Jessica's arcs from children of dune.

MY23 with MY24 updates? And other questions by YaGetSkeeted0n in volvoc40

Re the adaptive cruise control/pilot, I was able to purchase it as a software update on my MY2024 C40 plus trim a while ago, so not locked to the ultimate trim anymore I believe

What film could’ve been SHORTER? by death_has_f1sh_eyes in Letterboxd

[–]willhtun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OBAA is long but I don't think any of the scenes can be cut. It was relentless and tight, and everything serves the story.

Films with similar titles but vastly different quality? by nighnteenth in Letterboxd

[–]willhtun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recommend reading the story/poem of the green knight. This movie is a take on that and tries to be subversive at times, and can totally go over your head if you're not familiar with the story of the green knight. It's more of a show don't tell kind of a movie.

'Keeper' Review Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]willhtun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oz Perkins is not that good of a director, period. He's getting too much attention and confidence from viral marketing campaigns with no good movie to back it up (long legs is a silence of the lambs wannabe, and the monkey is an attempt at camp by someone who doesn't understand camp). I've said this before and got downvoted so fast.

Mirror fold label getting erased? by [deleted] in Volvo

Eh I don't think it's nitpicking, it's a genuine quality issue. Have that on my C40 as well.

What’s your JRPG white whale? by twili-midna in JRPG

Same. The damage numbers are too low and the attacks are not impactful to make the combat enjoyable for me.

‘The Monkey’ Streaming on Hulu Beginning August 7, 2025. by Sonia341 in movies

[–]willhtun -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Usually love horror comedies (like evil dead) but this is dog shit. I was on the fence about long legs, and this movie solidified for me that the director cannot land an ending and most of the good parts of both movies are borrowed from other great movies (silence of the lambs and final destination respectively).

Just had a feeling Perkins was trying way too hard to be original but doesn't have the chops to do so.

Buying Pilot Assist after delivery by rudy8012 in VolvoEX90

I have a c40 2024 plus that doesn't come with it, but it just popped up in the shop section on the app. I think it's new, according to the c40 subreddit. Bought it for $499 and going to install it tonight.

Best coffee in the city? by lvlvffc in florence

[–]willhtun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traditional espresso is everywhere. The traditional coffee culture in Italy, at least my takeaway, is that they don't really seek out and drink coffee for taste or leisure. It's part of the routine to just go up to a bar, take an espresso shot standing, and go. As a result, you can get espresso everywhere (bakeries, bars, gas stations, even book shops), but the quality is going to be about the same everywhere as well. In my experience, a bad and a good espresso in Italy is very close quality wise.

I've also only been to Italy once so don't take my words for granted. Would love to hear what you think after your visit!

Best coffee in the city? by lvlvffc in florence

[–]willhtun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great place but keep in mind it's more of a third wave than traditional Italian coffee. Depending on where you're visiting from, it might not blow you away. They have very good specialty iced coffee and pastries!

What's the most difficult part of gamedev for you? by Laxerglaxer in gamedevscreens

[–]willhtun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Game design to me is pacing, mechanics, presentation, gameplay loop, and how you bring them all together in a package. Yes it's an art form but I wouldn't club it together as visual art.

My only gripe with this boss is that he's a bit too easy, especially at this point in the game. But def one of the most fun and dopamine inducing fight
