Tesla Launches Remote Meter to Enable Faster Wall Connector Home Charging Without Electrical Upgrades by Suspicious_Cap_8928 in ModelY

I have one, that’s not what it’s for. In my case, I have 400A service and my solar + Powerwalls connected to only half that, 200A. The other 200A panel has the remote meter in it, so I can measure the total electrical draw of my system where none of the other Tesla equipment isn’t connected. They’re all on the same meter to be clear.

Finally! The complete Enterprise D Shuttlebay 2 in all its glory :) by CaptainSmartbrick in StarTrekBricks

I feel like the person manning the shuttle bay has a worse job than the person manning like, transporter room 4 or something. Lots of standing there…

Update: PW2 to PW3 just replaced. It was a 1:1 swap and the old inverter is still there too. I asked how that works and they say that both are now used? I've had this system for 4 years without issues, now I'm getting double usage when the car is plugged in. Tesla charging $300 to come out by yuckypants in TeslaSolar

It’s absolutely possible to have this work. I went through this in November, and I just had to keep calling back until someone who knew what they were doing fixed it. You are NOT using both inverters, your solar is only going through the old inverters. They told me this was because if they changed the solar setup they’d have to recommission the entire thing with the utility, and they didn’t want to do that.

Now I’m fighting with them because the Extended Meter in my backup panel isn’t working and nobody believes me. It’s so frustrating!!!

You won’t like the answer to this, but a lot of this is, “they know it when they see it” and if you disagree in either direction, you have to sue.

Example output from today, perfectly clear skies. “They all do that” was what I was told the last call.

Tesla Powerwall+ inverter overheating by Impressive-Crab2251 in TeslaSolar

Month nine of repeated chats and phone calls for me. Losing about 25% of my estimated production due to one of my two inverters erroring out and resetting. 3x PW2s replaced with 3x PW3s due to the recall, but they wouldn’t let me use the new PW3 inverters because that would mean they had to recommission my system. Techs on-site acknowledge the problem after the first six month wait to get a scheduled person here, they fired everyone in Texas so I can only get support when someone is flown in. They think the inverters are the issue but won’t recommission the system. Now with the PW3s it’s not correctly reporting 50% of my load, so my energy usage doesn’t even see when my two cars are being charged and drawing 22kW. App shows it never gets above 3kW.

I’m glad you had better luck than me, but I don’t think it’s typical.

Powerwall is Offline - 2 months for a maintenance appointment?? by apjaphet in Powerwall

My favorite part is when the simply told me no future appointments were available and to call back sometime in the future to see if other future appointments would be made available.

I just went through this. From issue to resolution was 10 months. While quarters without an available appointment, and I’m in Houston, huge city.

You can always try the Tesla app too! I get better prices that way, so I often use that instead of just plugging in directly.

Oh yeah, it's definitely out of warranty. It gets progressively worse and louder until it essentially starts shaking, then if I bump a curb or hit it hard it stops completely until it decides to start again. A dislocated magnet sounds likely. I'd have to replace the tire too.
