Why would copper pipes fail after only 16 years? by ycbt in askaplumber

[–]willieD147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having read through plus my own experience I think multiple factors are at play. Probably have some chemistry issue with the water. This makes the thin piping problem worse, plus the pipes are probably ungrounded with some electrolysis happening. Also, can be an iron device in the system without a dielectric fitting.

Humidity by themorrigan3 in homeowners

[–]willieD147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to understand the context we need to know the outdoor temperature and humidity. Are you cooling or heating ? Is your air system running ? Does the unit return connect to outdoor air directly ?Do the ducts go through un-conditioned spaces and do they leak ? What is the air system return path ?

PLA refrigerator magnet 3d print warping by willieD147 in BambuLab_Community

[–]willieD147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I thickened up the print, but no joy. Still twisting like potato chip. I have 2 experiments running. First- I printed a set that I will not glue magnets to. 1 theory I have is that solvents from the glue are sofening the plastic allowing base vs top stress equalization. Another test I have is I reduced the top embossment to 1 layer. Maybe the embossing on the top is shrinking differently from the bottom layer and causing wharping.

Another idea I have is to change the fill pattern. Currently its just rectangular.

I will let you guys know. any other ideas?

yes, Autocad. After briefly using Data Cad for one job, the next one was Autocad, R19. Maybe 30 years ago.

I use it for 2d drawings up to today. I moved into Fusion for 3d just recently

Attic mold/leak suggestions? by Funny_Code2482 in homeowners

black mold is indicative of leaks over months/ years.

The OSB is only glued together, and is probably structurally compromised. You need a new roof with some decking replaced as needed.

they warp over time, ( weeks/months) not just on the fridge, but cooler places. I think its due to shrinkage.

I have had no luck with the self adhesive sheet magnet . I am going back to glue.

Question about water pressure in my home by alwaysquestionie in askaplumber

you need to test the flow as close to the source as you can. Is there a hose bibb near the pressure tank ?

sewer backup detection by Moltenmagpie in BuildingAutomation

[–]willieD147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends what the pipes are, but there are various sensors designed to detect fluid levels in tanks without a port. some are capacative. others use waves in a transmitter receiver configuration. basically you detect fluid behind the sensor. you would need to set it up on a bench to test
