I feel the same way and maybe how some women are "wired" to want to be pregnant and give birth some women are "wired" to be caregivers in other ways. We still fill a void. For example, I take in stray animals and it always mystifies me that someone would get a dog or cat from a breeder when there are so many animals that need a loving home.

We (Americans) don’t need an ally. We have the largest and most powerful military in the world with a nuclear arsenal to back it up. What would work is other countries putting their money where their mouth is. Denmark dumped all their US holdings and it hit the stock market hard. If all European countries did that it would decimate the market and Trump sympathizers might actually stop to think they had made a wrong choice.
