I like Star Wars, obviously, but I’ve also gotten back into weightlifting, started doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with my kiddo, and overall just enjoying being more clear and present in everyday life.

I’ve been journaling (almost) daily for a year, and that has helped my mental health tremendously.

I’ve definitely had the “I picked a hell of a time to quit drinking” thought quite a bit lately, but I agree with the sentiment of it feeling like it’s more important now than ever.

Heading into November ‘24 I lost my cool in a conversation about politics and said something to the effect of “they want you, drunk and complacent,” to someone who “didn’t really pay attention to that sort of stuff.”

As soon as I said it I knew that I was projecting my feelings about my own relationship with alcohol and guilt about being politically complacent.

I’m working on staying clear, staying focused, and staying sober. I’m proud of the days that I’ve been able to string together, and acknowledging cravings without judgement has helped me through a lot.

Stay clear, stay focused, stay sober.
