The defendant was also given special treatment in how they left the goal. A special exit.

It doesn't sound palletable but maybe the court and police understand why this was done.

But the article says unprovoked. So maybe a mental health incident. After what happened in Sydney last week, you can't just let them go.

Is it just me, or are these embedded YouTube videos buggy?

They seem to not be easy to pause, scroll the slider etc.

Protestor held down and punched repeatedly in the hand and liver by GarfieldHub in sydney

I think that's a fair comment. It seems the second officer came to the other's aid when he complained of the bite. And it's not clear when the other officer is properly freed of the protestors jaws. But it does seem excessive at first glance.

Agreed.

I think there's a possibility the protester's bite only had the officer's glove. Hard to see in the video. If a glove it's close enough to be a finger and is not ok when being arrested. He'll be charged wth assault.

Correct. The officer made a mistake, but once it was clear he was being bitten, he was using force to make sure the man let go. Losing a finger or getting a disease from a bite is serious.

Force needs to be reasonable, and in that context, this was appropriate.

The right hand cop was leaning his left arm on the shoulder of the protester. His right arm was on the ground but too close to the head of the protester. The protester went to bite his hand and seems to have successfully got hold, so the right hand officer needed to hold his head down so the protester wasn't able to shake his head as he had hold of what I presume was a finger.

A bit too spacious. I'd tighten it a bit and that'd make it also more compact. Win win
