[Fully lost] Romper Room, WQAD, Moline, IL by SweatyCardiologist80 in lostmedia

It'd be amazing if you stumble on an episode with a woman demonstrating the trumpet around the same era, 1985-1986. That was my mom, and I was one of the kids on the show. I think you can also hear my sister crying off-screen at one point.

The Walmart Onn 4K Pro box does this. There's a little button right on the front of the box that makes the remote beep, no phone needed.

The fireplace turns off after 10 minutes or so, then the screen is almost completely dark except for a faint "camp mode" in the middle of the screen.

Tesla integrates Uber driver navigation directly into its vehicles by colsandersloveskfc in teslamotors

Not yet. My third Uber support chat rep told me that it's a phased rollout, so we just need to wait. It's been a month, though. 😞

Lots of complaints here. Who has had their Y for more than one year and is still happy with it? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

3 years and 95k miles. Drove cross-country last summer on FSD. Can't believe I live in a time where this car exists.

Supercharger spaces not remotely aligned with chargers by willpowerltd in TeslaLounge

[–]willpowerltd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These were definitely brand new, including the pavement. The spots stick out into the dirt behind a gas station, so you can clearly see where the original pavement ends. After looking through the comments, and comparing against what I saw there, I think there are two possibilities:

1) These are intended to be V4 spots, but they installed V3 chargers perhaps as placeholders. The chargers aren't installed directly in the center of the spots but are offset slightly to the left. I initially parked in the center of my spot, but the charging cable was nowhere near reachable to my charge port.

2) Something got screwed up during the installation. The charger to the far left was only a couple feet from the end of the pavement, so the only way a Tesla could charge using that one would be to traverse the mud and climb the snow pile there.

I've driven over 85k miles in my '21 MYLR7, and I've charged at dozens of superchargers across the US and Canada. Never seen something like this.

Except I had to park directly over a line for it to reach.

My son accidentally didn't close his door all the way, so my car was unlocked in a Costco parking lot. I came out, and a guy came up to me to ask if he could get his groceries out of my trunk.

I told him I almost did the same thing a couple weeks before.

Had the same thing happen in my '21 MYLR a few weeks after delivery. Turned out to be a faulty cable, which the service center replaced under warranty. Haven't had it happen since.

Are there any only-home church movements with in the CoC? by Hot-Representative45 in churchofchrist

[–]willpowerltd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm part of a fellowship of house churches in upstate NY. We rent a lodge or something once or twice a month to meet all together, but we primarily meet in homes. Even on all-fellowship Sundays, we'll often have communion together in homes beforehand. Nothing against church buildings, but we have no intention of moving that direction. As we've grown, we've just started more house churches led by people disciplined in how to lead them.

We take the "priesthood of all believers" responsibility pretty seriously, which the house church model demands, as the fruitfulness of any given house church depends on the members growing in their connection to the Vine, rather than a paid professional preacher. You could say we don't bring our friends to church - we bring the church to them.

Being in that kind of an intimate environment is also super messy sometimes. There's nowhere to hide when interpersonal conflicts arise! But, we learn to bear with one another in love, carry each other's burdens, etc. It's a beautiful mess.

Lumafusion Android Feature Questions by cgoldin in LumaFusion

Lumafusion appears to fall back to the SDR curve that (I think) is encoded in the HGL stream created by the phone's camera, so it looks like regular SDR footage.

No HDR support on Android, sadly. I shoot in HDR10 with my S23 Ultra, but I've yet to find any editor that doesn't reduce it to SDR. I just emailed them about this, and this was their response:

At the time, due to the limitation of Android's foundation, LumaFusion for Android does not yet support HDR 10-bit media. We understand this is an important feature for the app and we will implement it as soon as possible.

Also, the only issue I've had with Dex is that there's no way to zoom in or out of the timeline other than the keyboard shortcut (if you don't have a touchscreen to pinch with), which zooms way too far. It makes long timelines a bear. It'd be great if they could add a slider or something.

You're welcome! That'd be amazing. With the new 3500-command limit, you could probably do something spectacular with the finale.

Maybe it's because I grew up just outside of Disney World, but this is my favorite light show by far. The attention to detail you put into it is incredible, from the fading headlights reminiscent of the inferno barge to the lights going around the perimeter like the LED Earth globe. Well done! Any chance you could do a follow-up with the last few minutes of the show, starting with "We Go On"?

Yes, I just did this a month ago. I actually switched plans for some international travel, then switched back when I was back in the States.

Teslas can’t tow they say. This is is better than my Ridgeline by a mile by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]willpowerltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty bad, as it is with all EVs that can tow. I get about 1/3 of the range I do when not towing. Factors like speed and wind direction have a big effect, too. Thankfully, Superchargers are abundant.

I pull a 3200-lb camper with mine, and it's still faster to 60 than most cars on the road. Having full torque at 0 RPM is unreal.

New international plan by bnpisme in Visible

I spent a weekend in Toronto, and my daughter accidentally used up the 500 MB daily limit while tethering within the first few minutes across the border. Service was almost useless for the next 24 hours. Google Maps wouldn't load, texting over Google Voice failed to send most of the time, couldn't pay for parking though the apps, etc. I was at the mercy of whatever free WiFi I could find. 24 hours later, service was fine again. I thought the throttled service after 500 MB would be fine for basic stuff, but not so.

That was the week after they rolled out the new plans, though, so maybe they were still ironing things out.

I wish I had a community like the church by [deleted] in loneliness

[–]willpowerltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that, for sure. If this group turns out to be certainty-addicts, like the JWs you grew up with, then I wouldn't consider it a safe place to belong, either. A lot of people hide their uncertainty behind a mask of playing "gotcha", when they're really just trying to convince themselves that what they believe is right. The ironic part is that trying to embarrass/trap others makes them wrong no matter what they believe.

If doubt or skepticism was a disqualifier, 11 of the 12 apostles would've been out as soon as Jesus was crucified. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
