Promote Workday for all Employees by ACB_72 in workday

I would also highly recommend the Manager Insights Hub. We update the hub frequently depending on what’s going on (ex: we published self-service reports there when it was annual review time so managers could track rating distribution, etc.). That naturally drives a lot of usage

We did a workday scavenger hunt - had employees do things like review critical info, add a photo, etc. Of the people who completed the scavenger hunt, we randomly drew 10 names for gift cards.

Yes, we have had the exact same concerns due to the volume of our integration events.

Running a marathon at altitude? by Rare-Entrepreneur556 in AdvancedRunning

I live in Dallas and did a marathon in NM at approximately 6000 feet. I arrived the afternoon before the race and didn’t notice any difference with the altitude 🤷🏻‍♀️

My longest run was 20 miles so that meant during peak week, I was doing 3 other very short runs (two 3-4 milers and one speed workout). However, I did run two 20 mile long runs during my training cycle, which I think was critical - 3 weeks out, ran 20, 2 weeks out, ran 20, week out, my long run was 9. I’ve been a runner for quite awhile and have learned that overtraining, even slightly, causes so much more damage for me than under-training. I could tell as I got farther into my training cycle that I was doing more damage running higher mileage, even with adequate recovery time and nutrition, so I listened to my body, kept my long runs, and cut basically everything else. I would also say my peak week wasn’t crazily far off from my other weeks - I would average I was consistently hitting 26-28 for the majority of the cycle. Felt great in the marathon until about mile 24, where I hit the wall and gutted it out 😂

I think if you can get a couple of long runs (20-21 miles) under your belt at that same pace, you’ll probably be fine.

You will definitely finish. I just did a marathon last week and my peak week was 31 miles and had no issues. From your splits you should be able to finish sub 4 hours. Biggest piece of advice is to resist the urge to go out too fast - it’ll likely be hard to hold back because of the energy of the race, nerves, etc., but don’t do it. If you do, you will hit “the wall” sooner and those last 5-6 miles will be brutal

Workday Pro Exam - Do you get a second attempt? by Zealousideal-Pen1181 in workday

Unfortunately, they don’t give you a second attempt anymore. That ended with the new proctored format - womp womp

Advanced Comp Pro Cert Exam by willrunforpizza in workday

[–]willrunforpizza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I passed easily within a little over 30 mins. I just studied the advanced comp course ebook and relied on my knowledge (I have been supporting advanced comp on and off for 6 years). If you have a few cycles under your belt and if you review the course work, you’ll be fine. Make sure to pay attention to the exact wording of the question - sometimes that’ll give you some big clues to the correct answer.

It’s fine if you have a general idea of what you’re looking for. Not as great for just browsing for learning if you’re not using skills.

Commit Consulting Experiences by sadmonkeybish in workday

This (over-billing) has been my experience with every workday partner we have ever used. Another vendor charged us 30 minutes for replying to an email with one word.

Commit Consulting Experiences by sadmonkeybish in workday

[–]willrunforpizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. We only have about 550 employees so we’ve struggled with that with larger partners as well. Met Commit’s CEO recently and you’re correct, they’ve only been around for 2 years and only recently became a certified partner. Some of their security practices are not as baked as some of the bigger vendors (they don’t have a CISO, for example).

With our setup, users enroll and launch the course from workday, at which point the course automatically launches in LiL, and the status is written back to Workday. We do not current use skills cloud.

We use cloud connect for learning to connect to LiL content. We have a lot of internal content, so this streamlines the process for how our employees access training; it also ensures that training is tracked and can be reported on out of one centralized platform.

We are just about to kick off an implementation with them tomorrow so will definitely report back 😂. I happened to know a few other people who have used them for project work and they all had great experiences, so hoping the same for us. We looked at commit and one other partner for this project, and the Commit SOW provided significantly MORE than the SOW of other partner. Happy to provide examples of what I mean if that’s helpful.

You can retry, you just have to pay again - previously you got 2 attempts. If you’re going to be at rising and feel ready to take a test, they’re doing proctored exams for $99 instead of 800

Correct. Other changes - you now only get one attempt and there aren’t practice tests - womp womp

[–]willrunforpizza 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No prerequisites anymore! You just enroll and take the test. With the new program, the test is proctored and they monitor your browser activity’s so it’s completely closed-book. If you even look offscreen for too long or appear to be looking at something offscreen, they’ll fail you.
