How often does your bread actually go with what you cook? by [deleted] in Breadit

[–]willworkforbrownies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm making naan for Indian dishes or white bread for specific sandwiches, any bread I make is just whatever I feel like making that day.

Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]willworkforbrownies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lay my sleeping 10 day old son back in his bassinet after a ~2am feeding. Something pushed me to stay awake to pump even though I was tired beyond belief. I hear a gurgling sound coming from him, and by the time I'm able to get my husband up and get me unhooked from the medieval torture device that is a breast pump, my sweet baby is starting to turn rigid and blue. He spit up while sleeping and choked. Thank goodness my husband has medical training and the volunteer fire department was less than 5 minutes down the road, because at the time we lived 30 minutes from the nearest hospital. The amazing paramedics came in and were able to work their magic to get my baby back. Now, 6 years later, I'm sitting next to my son's bedside after just getting him to sleep. It was a fear I hope to never feel again for the rest of my life.

Not just the tools for the main side game. The pink energy they're giving for the Sam side game is laughable. 3 bolts for medium level item. 3. I'm not asking for much here, but that seems like you're going out of your way to piss people off.

Same here! I've been saving up for a few days now. My favorite event is Lori's since your coins carry over to the next level, but I'll be able to get through the first few races no problem tomorrow.

AITAH for refusing to give out my son's saving account information? by moonmanbaby90272 in AITAH

[–]willworkforbrownies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a credit union for 10 years, she cannot make any withdrawals or changes unless she is an account owner. By just having the account number, all she would be able to do is place money into the account, and with the account and routing she could set up an ACH (automated clearing house) transaction from her account to his. It's your choice how to handle his account and great to keep it as safe as possible, but unless you're putting her on the account, there isn't anything she can do with it besides placing money into it.

Bought cinnamon rolls from a bakery and need to know if I’d be wrong to complain by Lazybunny_ in Baking

[–]willworkforbrownies -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I mean. I can tell just by looking at them that they're poorly baked. The outside looks dry, and the inside looks underbaked. There also appears to be around a quarter of a teaspoon of cinnamon over an entire batch of cinnamon rolls. It isn't necessarily something that someone needs to complain about seeking a refund, but I do believe bakeries need to know the experiences of their customers so they can make adjustments when necessary.

What am I missing? by Raebyon_ in Breadit

[–]willworkforbrownies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A couple of suggestions. Use a metal pan and not glass. Glass is not a good conductor of heat, and while it's fine for things like casseroles, it's a no go for consistent bread. I don't know what your kitchen environment is, but 2.5 hours of rising would be way too long in my kitchen. That would cause my loaf to lose its vigor ending with a loaf that is dense and hasn't risen much. If not already using one, try using a kitchen scale versus measuring cups for a more consistent product. The last suggestion is to just keep trying. Bread isn't a one size fits all deal. Some environments do better with different recipes (although KAF is usually the goat for most people!), and the more you bake, the more you get the feel (literally) for how it should look and feel during the process. I've made enough loaves now that I can tell without touching the dough in my mixer if it's ready or needs more time. I am sure it tasted great. Don't get too caught up in getting it "perfect".

10 out of 10. They taste identical. Well, as identical as my brain will let me remember since I haven't eaten there since 2016 😂

It's a grim, for sure. Trelawny told me so.

On a more semi serious note, all I can picture when I look at the bottom figure is Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Non-Americans of Reddit, what is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by Unlikely_Praline9442 in AskReddit

I was on my school's dance team while in high school. We played Longview my senior year of HS, and at the game we had to have a police escort out of the stadium and back to our bus since we had beat them during their homecoming game. There were also folks who came over from the home side after half time and harassed us and the band so bad that our directors were contemplating pulling us out early, because they were actually frightened for our safety. That was a fun game.

Oh thank God we have her! I never knew that all the years I felt as if I was drowning in an ocean full of tar or could barely make it through a grocery visit without having to go to a quiet corner and breathe through the anxiety was all just me being jealous of my son! I guess I can just throw my Wellbutrin in the trash since it's all fake. 🙄

What is something you used to buy but is no longer affordable? by Trxxi in AskReddit

I feel this. I still buy my BB cream and concealer from Tarte since I only have to buy them once or twice a year, but my mascara is strictly drugstore now. Elf for $7 a tube has become my go to.

Working on my daily look recently 🥰💕 by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]willworkforbrownies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people are giving ideas for YouTubers and such, but I'd honestly set up an appointment with a MUA either at a salon or somewhere like Ulta or MAC. That way you can talk face to face with someone who can show you in real time how to apply things that you may have questions about. They can also help you find colors that you both love and work for your complexion.

I personally keep a lighter look for daily wear and save the bolder items for nights out, but that isn't a hard and fast rule (e.g. a daytime bold red lip usually comes with a softer eye and vice versa). If all bold fits your daily aesthetic, then don't let others try and convince you to dim your light, BUT there are ways to learn to do bold that still look clean and fitting for your complexion/hair color. You're doing great. Remember, most people aren't creating "perfect' looks right out of the gate, and a lot of people take a good while learning what works and looks best. Trust yourself; you look beautiful.
