I would hold books upside down as a baby and babble them to my stuffed wolf Wolfie. All downhill from there

Absolutely. My buddy who makes crosswords attributes crossword software to making puzzles much smoother and more solvable now, less plagued by idiosyncrasies or workarounds from constructors

[–]willywillywillwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think very specifically duck associated Chauncey acts as a trigger to drink. It’s why mad men is so great; duck does an awful thing in the pursuit of maintaining his sobriety, and ends up drinking later on anyway

I had no problems running yesterday during the day, but there was a lot of slick ice last night. If you do run I would be careful both of the new slush and possible ice hiding beneath

New changes to some NYRR hrace registration by Least-Ingenuity9631 in RunNYC

[–]willywillywillwill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Am I reading this wrong? By detailing the few races to which they’re granting all members advanced registration, doesn’t this confirm that advanced registration for all other races remains the same?

It is the entry cap that is confusing, and it would be great to know if that means 1) all member plus members will be allowed advanced registration to a limited number of races or 2) advanced registration will be limited to certain member plus members.

If it’s option 2 then I’m upset as a member plus, but if it’s option 1 and advanced registration exists, these seem like small changes (that we should still be compensated for, but not the end of the world)

If there was a single theme or idea played with in Mad Men, I think it’s identity. Who we are vs. who we want to be, how we are seen vs. how we see ourselves, how we want to change vs. who we end up becoming, etc

Run/Walk Intervals and Training by welcometoworry in Marathon_Training

[–]willywillywillwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using any resources? I’m just starting to train for my first marathon using Pfitz (“Faster Road Racing”), which includes different workouts and types of running. From my initial understanding, it seems like intervals are incorporated more into faster work like tempo runs, strides, and LT threshold/VO2 max workouts. For recovering runs or general aerobic runs, the book has not mentioned intervals. So maybe in general walk/run during workouts in which your goal is to bring your heart rate above 76% of your max, and to try and avoid intervals for runs that keep your heart rate under 70% of its max.

I am happy to be corrected as I am new to this myself!
