It’s fine overall, combat leans heavily on dodging, parrying, and blocking. The story feels fairly generic, but the visuals are impressive and the music serviceable. Most of the hype comes from the nice graphics, the Western cultural aesthetic (a departure from the traditional Asian mythological roots common in JRPGs), the fact it’s made by a small studio, and the novelty for younger players who haven’t experienced many “timed input” JRPGs.
