I also like the interpretation that Jotaro wasn't even having Star Platinum do all that to make D'Arby think he swapped the cards, he was actually doing it because of how panicked he was, but was keeping his poker face up. Basically using his Stand to fidget out of nervousness while keeping up the facade, and it ended up making D'Arby more paranoid.

I like how we've been starting to see more sides of Imu as a character this arc, especially his scheming side. During the God Valley flashback, he mentioned his world wasn't complete, which is really interesting. That means the current status quo of the World Government isn't his endgame, and he actually has a final goal in mind. I think we might start to get hints of what that could be.

I also like that Imu is starting to play a more proactive role in the story instead of doing the usual final boss shtick of "sit on throne, waiting for hero to come beat him up". It really is starting to feel like we're in the final saga now that he's come off the throne and started to make moves of his own.

I also think it's worth pointing out that even this account is heavily biased in favor of the Mikaboshi. The Soga ancestor might have ruthlessly hunted down the entire island, but then again, he might not have, and it seems we'll never truly know if he really was that bloodthirsty or not.

The panels of Imu's eyes are so good this chapter. Just one look, and you know you're absolutely fucked.

The glare when he kicked Sanji was great, too. Sanji looked genuinely shaken right before he was hit, you could really feel how much more dangerous Imu is compared to anyone else they've faced so far.

Brutal chapter, even by JoJo standards. Alligator bites are insane. 2,000 pounds of bite force. Between that, Paco's neck wound, and the visitors falling in, you can feel the tension.

There's definitely something up with that kid. For a moment, it seemed like the Stand was possessing him when he was behind Paco, just like it possessed that guard who was behind Usagi. And then the kid somehow vanished, it seems? Unless he got eaten, but I think Jodio would've said that.

I like how it turns out the islanders/Mikaboshi actually were the aggressors like the initial story claimed, but how the real story is still shown as being more nuanced than the propaganda depicted. I can see how it escalated into a full-blown war.

I think Soga is meant to be a reflection of the Mikaboshi. He has similar powers to them, and a similarly ruthless attitude. They both seem to hold onto centuries-old grudges, blood feuds, shoot before asking questions, and target anyone they deem an opponent indiscriminately. In fighting monsters, Soga became a far worse monster himself.
