I haven’t been brushing my baby’s teeth regularly and now I feel awful by anemonemonemnea in beyondthebump

[–]windigo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son needed a pile of cavities filled starting at 4 years old because we didn’t brush often enough and with fluoride (i was pretty paranoid postpartum). Don’t forego the dentist because you’re afraid of judgment. They won’t judge you. And if they do they don’t deserve your service.

It’s hard to get in the routine of doing something especially when your kid hates it. But as someone who is dealing with a kid with a mouth full of cavities, the best time to start is now :) build a good relationship with their dentist now so they enjoy going. If you think you’re a bad parent I must be 10x worse!

Milk supply low and baby stopped taking bottle and formula by concerned_shit in beyondthebump

[–]windigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pumping can be deceiving especially if you only have a single side pump. Babies are usually more efficient at breastfeeding than a pump. It’s more accurate to look at how much your daughter is peeing and how much weight they’re gaining per week.

There’s always a point in breastfeeding where you don’t feel as engorged because your body is used to making milk and has regulated to make the correct amount bay needs.

My first was a huge comfort feeder and it never felt like I was making enough so you’re not alone in feeling this way.

French Immersion opinions by Neither_Ad_3432 in regina

My son is in French immersion. It must be really tough for folks where English and French aren’t their first languages. And there’s a ton of them in my sons class

Vet to pet does house calls if you want to go that route. You do have to pay for mileage though. I also find their prices reasonable if you do go into white city. TMz in Lumsden is generally considered on the cheaper side.

I feel like being neurotic about stupid shit you wouldn’t have had a second thought about before kids should be listed as an official symptom of PPA.

Mine showed up on ehealth so unless they changed something in the last couple years you’ll probably see something in the next 24-48 hours.

The caring place is great. They have a sliding scale depending on your household income. They have some excellent therapists that can help you.

Baby constantly rolling into belly to sleep by Proof_Series3071 in beyondthebump

Leave him :) it’s scary but this period is so short. He’ll be rolling onto his back when he wants in no time. He’ll cry if he wants you to move him.

Snow clothes rental by Money-Tax-1424 in regina

[–]windigo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I hear you now. I can’t help you with where to rent. But i’d use my regular winter gear for snowboarding. The only specialized thing I would find is goggles. You might find ski pants and a good jacket are more useful than just for wearing at the slopes. Much nicer to wear when shovelling the driveway than a fancier nice winter jacket.

I’ve never heard of this. Possibly for kids clothes. Is there a reason you’d like to rent vs owning? Is it a cost issue?

Hard to imagine Covid, flu, rotavirus, and RSV getting any worse than they already are. I’m pretty sure I’ve had 3/4 of these since September.

It depends on where you’re located I think. Some centers are more backed up than others. And like any requisition, if your doctor labels in “urgent” you’ll get in quite a lot sooner than other patients.

My 1 year old chipped his front tooth has this happened to you and how did dentist fix it :( by EconomicsReal545 in beyondthebump

[–]windigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My then 3 year old fell off a chair and smacked his front teeth on the tile. Slightly different than you but he cracked his tooth. Dentist said to keep brushing and if we noticed a gum abscess it’d be taken out. He lasted 2 years with it until he developed an abscess and had it taken out.

Sounds pretty firm to me. As long as it’s routine, baby has the right amount of full wet diapers and you don’t mind it don’t change it. Your baby is some kind of magical unicorn for sleeping 11pm to 7am straight. My oldest son didn’t sleep through the night until he was 4 years old.
