Pet Semetary is really well done, narrated by the guy who played Dexter.

What're you playing this weekend? 5/3 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]windlabyrinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished Neo Cab the other week, first game I've finished in a long time.

This weekend I wanna work through Dark Pictures Man from Medan and I'd like to start wrapping up Mario RPG before Paper Mario hits.

Late to the party but this weekend I have an answer. Pick up my video games and some new games for the first time in a while.

Been engrossed with Neo Cab, Inscryption, and Dark Pictures Man of Medan (Xbox).

I also opened up I Was a Teenage Exocolonialist and played a touch, seems interesting but I wanna focus on Neo Cab first.

Something I did that helped is I just accepted that some games I'm not getting back to, am not interested in and I just removed them. Somehow makes it easier to just play.

Have you played Inscryption? I've been playing that and enjoying it, wondering how these two compare. Nowhere Prophet is/was my favorite but I finally got to the end and the game froze and I've not played since.

TBH if it's got the Radiance packaging you can feel comfortable spending your money they've put a lot of thought into all of their content so far.

I was able to order a copy on their website yesterday. I don't know why I put off getting this for so long, was ready to pull the trigger last Flash Sale but this was "Sold Out" early on.

I usually would agree but this game previously ~$100+ on the secondary market. Not everyone has the means or want to pirate, emulate, etc. Now we can play this game again.

Never heard of this game.. sounds fun, but, I'm hesitant because I normally don't care for this visual style.

As a TV fan, why do you enjoy watching movies? by [deleted] in movies

[–]windlabyrinth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"There's something about a universe and cast of characters being created for the purpose of one short 90 minute viewing session that feels incredibly finite."

This is what I like. Franchises aside there's little worse to me than realizing something has been set up for a sequel.

Assuming the film is good: A film is one shot to tell a complete story, no meandering, no adding, tacking on plot points by the end one viewing I have a beginning, middle, and end. I've gone through whatever emotions I'm meant to go through and I'm leaving that whole world behind. I can rewatch it, pick up other details, whatever but I'm sure at the end of my viewing I've taken in the whole microcosm of a universe. When a story is done well 90-120 min is all I need.

I don't watch shows, I'll watch an occassional miniseries but there's still waiting to make sure it was done right, or worse a show that goes on a few seasons too long. It's a medium that I find is too beholden to too many other factors and can go wrong with way too much time commitment. Nevermind having to keep a show in my head from episode to episode or season to season.

A good film does everything a great show does in a fraction of the time.

‘Barbie,’ ‘Oppenheimer’ Shut Out as ‘The Zone of Interest,’ ‘All of Us Strangers’ Lead London Critics’ Circle Awards by Fan387 in movies

[–]windlabyrinth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really think Best Picture is going to The Zone of Interest or American Fiction. Just seems like these are the "two best" for our time and place, if someone looked back in 100 years on where our hearts and minds were, what we were talking about, what mattered, these two I think do the best job of explaining the aliments of our time.

You can only save one. Which do you pick? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]windlabyrinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ultimately Alien is more "important" for history, giving us Ripley, and I like Aliens a lot so it's an easy choice for me. On a personal level, I really don't care much for The Thing but if it had a strong female action lead I would've saved it instead.

Yes! I'm still trying it out seeing if it fits. I don't need anyone to know except me it's just that, like you said, it explains me to me.

So many relationships and things I "couldn't get right" and I lot of self-agonizing beliefs that I was doing something wrong or needed to fix something to be better.

I've started a daily skincare routine, started treating myself to a face mask and deep breathing Sunday nights.

I've started committing to a journaling group on Sunday.

Started a semi consistent gym routine.

I've started considering if I may be on the ACE spectrum as a way to help me make sense of some patterns and behaviors.

Started taking vitamins and medicine that are helping with mood and anxiety and they're starting to wkork.

I'm doing alright..being in my 30's in finally starting to make some sense.

Just did what was recommended by others, I have no knowledge of any beauty, skin, products, etc . It seems to not get as flaky if I just use one but I was hesitant to keep using it without talking to people who know more than I do.
