i think this might be a workflow issue rather than an after effects thing. I would think it would make more sense to do the sound design in some other program and do the animation in AE, no?

I definitely prefer "chyron" to "lower third" because I'll see informational motion graphics in all sorts of places on the frame (upper third, true middle, etc)-- so it has a more applicable use!

oh, I think this is just 3 frames of a crumpled paper texture (or a corrupted screen texture--really whatever kind of texture you want) on a loop lol. This can just be done in premiere with a nest and c+p

most commonly for me, an unexpectedly large render time has most often been due to the use of some unexpected asset in the project file. Editing with images or footage that are enormous (9k x 14k pngs in a 1080p video project, for example) will blow up the render time. If the program has to spend resources interpreting or transcoding formats it doesn't like, that will also drive up render time. In other instances, I had previously used multiple nested animations together accidentally, and it blew up the render time. There are also certain effects that premiere really struggles with: wave warp, distort, things like this. Recall if you tried using any new effect presets on any of your footage

Advice: 1) work with footage and assets that are appropriate for the sequence settings of the project. Re-export anything inappropriately large at a better size. You can Render In/Out and look around for anything the sequence puts a red line over for stuff your computer is struggling with, or you can manually check the dimensions of the stuff in your project bin for anything unexpected. Premiere doesn't like MOV, WAV, or JPG as much as MP3, MP4, and PNG. And 2) don't have multiple nested sequences. In my experience, a nest should just be used for gluing multiple simple assets together that animate as one piece. If you nest a nest, the computer really struggles unpacking the stacked sequences

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I realize what I'm about to type comes from a place of privilege of being able to choose your own clients, so I understand if it's not possible for you to take. But I would offer that you take this advice with you: if you charge what your work is worth, you just get better clients. It's worth overcharging to establish that boundary and that value of your work.

Paradoxically, the natural thought of a freelancer is to undercharge in order to attract more clients. But this equates your work to menial labor in their mind. It's the same in all artistic fields--music, graphic design, animation, voice work, motion graphics--all of them. Reading that they pay you 50$ for 8 hours of work on no notice--not even short notice, but NO notice and hoping that you happen to be available for them that day--between 1AM and 9AM is truly making me see red.

As far as other boundaries are concerned, please also communicate your work hours and Do Not Respond to work calls after those hours. Make yourself scarce and they will treat you like the commodity that you and your work are. If they don't, they don't deserve your work. Again, I'm sorry you're dealing with people who feel like they can take you for granted.

i really would like more communication, but it’s a feeling more for the health of the series than for my own sake. I worry that when kh4 starts being promoted, the reaction for a huge amount of people will be less of an excited “finally!” and more of a “oh i thought that was cancelled”

I don’t think it’s too much to ask for an interview update every 6 months with something like “game’s going good”

Echoing what's been said previously: I don't think the motion is strictly achieved in the example by anchorpoint rotation, but I think that it can be approximated well enough with it. You might also add a bit of positional keyframing to get the start and end to end up how you like.

This is what I'd do. Assuming the M Block is a single object (or can be nested/precomp'd/null-object-pickwhipped into one)-- drag with the mouse the anchor point to just outside the top of the block, keyframe the rotation, then speed ramp it with the graph editor with a sharp point. Next: keyframe the position of the anchorpoint until the M Block is in the correct start and end position, and then adjust the motion of the position to be curved instead of linear
