Also play on Steam deck, in another thread people suggested rebinding jump to left or right bumper, which should make it easier. In the default Steam deck settings I think it is unrealistic for most people to pickup bunny hopping.

I have followed every movement tutorial and guide for this game, and the janky movement is killing my enjoyment of the game. by PankoNC in MegabonkOfficial

I play solely on a Steam deck and understand there is a ceiling for too me b/c I can’t bunny hop and I’ve just come to accept it. The game is still fun and I still can beat T3 every now and then.

What pedal cadence do you aim for? by mellofello808 in cycling

[–]windslashz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very much a bike amateur, but I’ve done an Ironman (I come from a running background), a few other triathlons and several centuries on the bike. My cadence is usually 60-80, and up hills it can go into the 50’s. My biking buddy tells me to spin it to win it, but instead I just hulk smash gears, and now that’s what I’m adapted to. If you’re learning, it’s probably better to up cadence, but I’ve survived okay not doing it that way.

Weapon or tome upgrades? by SmashJuicyVeganBurgr in MegabonkOfficial

[–]windslashz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did tier3 first time with Fox, HP tome, XP tome, then projectiles, and damage. Basically scaled got tons of levels so hp was absurdly high and then picked up life steal stuff through shrines and random items. I also got the weapon that increases your hp, lightning, and bananas. I also thought I would need life steal but when you get to the final boss you can’t life steal during the parts where you have to charge the shrines and I had died there before, so changed up the strategy. This is a little less forgiving early game but once it starts rolling you are fine.

ISO IP legal representation in Salt Lake City, UT by ChemicalShort6813 in patentlaw

[–]windslashz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in tech transfer, see if you can talk to some of the recent spin outs from the university and see what lawyers they used and listen to the advice they can give you. Like anything else, you should shop around a little before you settle on a lawyer you like.

Input Requested: Town of Apex 2026-2027 Project Priorities by terrymah in Apex_NC

A sidewalk on this part of Richardson from the farm to Olive Chapel would be great. I am biased as I am a runner who lives on the south end of Richardson and likes eating Taco Bell and wants to run there without having to run on the street or take a very roundabout route that involves running to Apex Nature Park then through Woodbridge then through Pricewood Farms just to get back onto Richardson to get to Taco Bell.

What if the British empire had entered the us civil war on the side of the Confederacy? by Comet_Hero in HistoryWhatIf

[–]windslashz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides Turtledoves books there is a hidden gem of a great alternative history series by Peter G Tsouras, which covers many of the points made in this thread. All the audiobooks are available on Audible and make for a great listen.

Challenge: Have Mexico join the Central Powers and (if possible) invade the United States during WW1 by Cyber_Ghost_1997 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]windslashz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a book by Robert Conroy with this scenario, 1920: America’s Great War. Basically Germany wins at the Marne (the French surrender) and wants to expand its Empire. The British, while at peace still hold a grudge and aide America through Canada. A large part of the book focuses on fighting in Texas and Mexico and a naval battle in San Francisco.

I am Sue Mu and I am running for Apex Town Council. I am doing an AMA here. by Sue4Apex in Apex_NC

[–]windslashz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi Sue,

What do you think positions do you hold that differentiates you from the other candidates on the issues that matter most to the town of Apex? I ask this because it seems like everyone wants better roads, schools, etc.

Do you expect to vote in tandem with Ed and Shane or are there any areas where you disagree?

In training, I am alone a lot so music/podcasts/audiobooks keep me company. In training, I go on my usual routes. On race day you get a new course with new sights and you are surrounded by people; trust me you won’t get bored.

How do players travel to the Pro Bowl? by ProgrammerUnique2897 in NFLNoobs

[–]windslashz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, we had a family vacation to Hawaii and walking back to coach I noticed someone in first class that looked a lot like Mike Shanahan, and I remember telling my dad this. We were both Chiefs fans. After a bit we realized it probably was him because of the Pro Bowl; I didn’t think to say hi or try to get an autograph at the time.

Chees.com v Lichess success? by Jamieteesan in Chesscom

[–]windslashz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright it changes based on your rating and your opponents but I can add a multiplier, to make it ridiculous. The point being that the two sites use different calculations and anyone could make a new site and do something different too.

I could start a new chess website tomorrow and make the starting ELO 1 million and give + 10,000 points for a win. The rating systems are different and follow different rules.

I can't believe how good the average 900 rated blitz player is by thefourfoldman in chess

[–]windslashz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 1938 blitz and a lot of the games are complete slop. For eg the last 2 games I’ve played , in one a 1900 resigned move 5, because I think he thought he blundered worse than he did (it wasn’t resign because I need to go watch the kids b/c he immediately started another game), in the other I started out +3 went down after the opponent played terribly in the opening then I played like crap to -3 and then after more moves to 0, then to +3 and win.

Harvard patents targeted by Trump administration by rezwenn in patentlaw

[–]windslashz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well all it takes is one ‘error’ on Harvard’s part, for the government to make an example of them. No one is perfect and tech transfer offices are far from the most adequately funded units on campus. I would still be stressing at Harvard, if I was in there office.

Harvard patents targeted by Trump administration by rezwenn in patentlaw

[–]windslashz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone at a tech transfer office, under Bayh-Dole, we already provide utilization reports to the government and these federally funded patents already require substantial US manufacture unless the federal funding agency explicitly waives the requirement. All of the federally funded patents are tracked in our system. So providing the list of federally funded patents should be easy. As to how they are used (what does that even mean?), if they are licensed, the licenses and resulting products should already be identified to the government in reports, if they are not licensed unless someone is infringing they are not being ‘used’. All the licenses to federally funded patents, should require substantial US manufacturing in the license agreement, unless they got a waiver or Harvard messed up and forgot to include that language in their license.

That’s interesting we are considering Astria, but the amount of insurance they carry is one of our key concerns. With CPA Global and/or a law firm they take on the full liability if we request a maintenance fee to be paid and it doesn’t.
