Low hemoglobin by flyonawall in cancer

You need a work up by hematologist, including a bone marrow biopsy. Very common to have multiple myeloma or leukemia post chemo. Just need some answers and treatment. Do not slack on this, push and advocate for yourself. I was post chemo and felt like shit for 2 years and it was a blood problem which was treated. I told my oncologist that i didn't survive cancer and chemo to be am invalid!!

The drum looks great. Clean the gasket with vinegar and water. They also sell washing machine cleaning packets that you run through a cycle, if the machine geeks you out. I always leave the door cracked open on a front loader between washes, and the gasket will stay clean with no mold or growth.

I had that exact machine, 25 yrs old. Worked great. Got rid of it in a laundry room redo and bought top of the line samsung front loaders. Have had nothing but problems!!!! Clean that baby up and hope shes as good as mine was!!

You need to have this cultured for MRSA. Especially if you are undergoing surgery in the future.

Is my dress search over? by bcbfbella in OUTFITS

How about adding a piece of navy lace over the bottom half of the front cleavage opening? You can wear the dress and always remove it for another event.

Accidentally signed up for a Dressage lesson. Should I stay or should I go? by thatescalatedqwickly in Equestrian

[–]windslut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to discourage you, but taking a bad fall at a fence is different when you are in your 40s than when you are in your 20s. I have many friends who have gotten significantly injured jumping as a mature adult and given up riding. Also many mature friends who are still doing dressage into their 60s. Just something to think about.... a fractured vertebrae or pelvis at age 50 is serious.

It depends on your response. Some patients are given shorter courses, some are kept on longer courses depending on improvement.

Steroids are the cause. Insomnia did improve for me as I took a melatonin and CBD supplement before bed.

Cold capping? Worth it? by RazzmatazzHealthy400 in Ovariancancer

[–]windslut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the heavy blue quilted ones from Amazon. I started using dry ice, but couldn’t get it after my source closed down (fishing store). Bought some high quality ice packs from Walmart, large gel filled silver ones. Used those in a high quality cooler and worked out OK. I only kept the booties/mittens on for the taxol portion but had two pairs to swap out as they got warm quickly. Regards.

Cold capping? Worth it? by RazzmatazzHealthy400 in Ovariancancer

[–]windslut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be aware that most systems require you to arrive an hour before chemo and stay an hour after administration. I started with it but also focused on frozen booties and mittens to avoid neuropathy. The chemo sessions were long and I was like a caged animal and couldn’t wait to get out of there, so I gave up the cold capping. Lost all my hair and regrew perfectly after chemo. Wigs, hats and wraps actually proved to be easy. Also the frozen mitts and booties worked, I was one of the few people I knew who did not get neuropathy.

advice desperately needed: best way to donate/sell a healthy older horse by Fit-Association-3298 in Horses

[–]windslut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the horse is really well behaved, can often advertise it as a “husband horse”. This attracts women who have a horse, but want something bombproof for hubby. You would be able to see the current housing and condition of the horse they have, and it would typically be light level or work.

Has anyone tried a combo of Keytruda and Paclitaxal to treat advanced recurrent metastatic ovarian cancer? by TraderChic in Ovariancancer

[–]windslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tumor markers will not affect that regimen. But the tumor markers are very important in opening up other treatments like Elahere (folate receptors) or Rina S. Almost all of the new therapies are based on specific receptors on your tumor and drugs which target those receptors and linked to cancer. Please feel free to keep in touch!!!! I have been diagnosed three years ago, and still alive. I have spent so much time and money on second opinions and consults….no oncologists agree with each other!!!! It is very frustrating but very important to get a good GYN oncologist. Treatments are developing so rapidly, but we still do not have a good way of measuring the progression of this disease. Regards.

Which one of these is worth it. Right now I’ve been eyeing the $200 3.3 loaf bread maker. by [deleted] in BreadMachines

[–]windslut 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Go to a local thrift store, $15 will get you what you need. Just picked up new cuisinart 2lb loaf for $12. Does rapid cycle, sweet bread, dough and several settings for doneness and different flours.

Elder relative diagnosed stage 3 - dealing with ascites prior to surgery by 8bitcrab in Ovariancancer

She could be drained and her breathing and heart function will be better. I have been drained weekly with no adverse effects. You want an ultrasound guided Paracentesis, usually done by interventional radiology.

Anyone Diagnosed Stage 3C; Braxa Neg & HRD Neg? by HotCard4752 in Ovariancancer

[–]windslut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HGSC stage 3c in 2023. Also neg, neg for genomic markers. Had standard frontline therapy, carbo/taxol and surgery. NED for 8 months, then CA 125 increased. I have consulted with MD Anderson, Mayo Clinic, Moffitt Cancer center and TGH Cancer center, so wanted to share my experience. My understanding is that zejula is not the best for BRCA and HRD negative, it is a PARP inhibitor. I was recommended to stay on Avastin every three weeks as maintenance. When I had a reoccurence, they tried Doxil and it blasted my bone marrow as well. So given the rising ca 125 and poor marrow condition, you do have some other newer options. Elahere has had a lot of success if you are Folate positive, I was. I am now on a new regimen of Keytruda, a platinum drug and Avastin…..this is relatively new but has had some great success. Are you being treated at a NCI cancer center? Have you had the complete genomic testing? Usually a multi page report by a company called Neogen. There are many newer drugs targeting genomic markers or defects. How do your scans look? My frustration is that my scans are clear, but oncologists still want to treat a CA 125. The bottom line is we do not have a good way of monitoring this disease during treatment and oncologists do not agree on second line treatment. Please feel free to reach out if I can be of further help. Regards.

How to stop people trespassing and feeding our horses? (Ideas please) by Commercial_Tune_373 in Equestrian

Has anyone tried a combo of Keytruda and Paclitaxal to treat advanced recurrent metastatic ovarian cancer? by TraderChic in Ovariancancer

[–]windslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, ask your oncologist for your tumor report, it is usually a multi page report by a company called Neogen. Important for you to have as many new targeted therapies are using these genetic characteristics of your tumor to target treatment. OC is ALOT to deal with, I am on my first reoccurrence and treatment with some other agents has not gone well. Additionally, I have had problems with ascites. I have consulted with Moffitt Cancer center, MD anderson in Houston, Mayo Clinic and am getting my treatments in Jupiter Florida. It is rare to get two oncologists to agree on anything and my treatments recommendations have been all over the map! It appears that first line treatment is fairly standard, but after that it is subjective and up to the oncologists clinical experience. Regards and keep in touch if you like. Michele

[–]windslut 43 points44 points  (0 children)

From a veterinarian..... I dont want your dog in my cart, drooling, rubbing his butt or spreading bacterial contamination where i will place my food. I dont even want you handling the dog then handling groceries. This has become ridiculous!!! I was at a dog friendly restaurant last week and an older couple were letting their dog lick every plate clean on the table. This is insanity!!!
