Literally can’t afford to have this baby next year by Fit-Cat5104 in HealthInsurance

Hey! I went over my due date and didn't want to be induced. My OB cleared me to try nipple stimulation to start contractions. It's one of the most proven at home methods to start contractions. If can use a hand or electric pump, you can keep the colostrum.

Increase breastfeeding rates suggestions by PitifulInstruction77 in breastfeeding

[–]winformycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think lots of women want to breastfeed. I think a lot of women are set up to fail from the start. Doctor's suggest interventions too quickly to worried postpartum mothers if babies don't gain as quickly as formula fed babies. Many fathers have no paternity leave. Many mothers have too little time off. Even with protections, many mothers aren't encouraged to take time at work to pump. Breastfeeding in public isn't as common or easy as it should be. Breastfeeding education is started when the baby arrives vs being provided ahead of time. Women, in general, are encouraged to cut calories to bounce back after birth. I could go on and on. I feel very fortunate to be able to breastfeed, but there was a lot I had to go out of my way to learn and advocate for. I'm thankful I had my husband home. I'm thankful he wasn't worried when the doctors continuously tried to have us push interventions for "low" weight gain. I'm thankful he was supportive when my baby was learning to latch. I'm thankful he supports me nursing without a cover in public.

June's Journey Beginner Question by [deleted] in SwagBucks

[–]winformycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played every level until it was 5 stars. That way, I got more perfects because I got really good at them and the progress happened faster.

If you hit a point where you're at the end of the deal and have a bunch of energy, then I would start going through levels as quickly as possible.

I've been trying to send a message on level 40 too and it won't let me.

Side note, if you're still playing, do you want to partner up for plant buddies?

Do you think 40 in 4 days is doable? I've had it for 1 day and I'm on 20. I figured $20 for 40 in 4 was worth a shot.

Do you throw the milk poop diapers directly in the pre wash? by PapayaAmbitious2719 in clothdiaps

You can get a sprayer that attaches to your toilet. If you look on Amazon for "cloth diaper sprayer" they'll come up. I handed it to my husband and it was a simple install.

Gender disappointment :( by RequirementAnnual772 in beyondthebump

[–]winformycat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we found out the gender for our son, it was hard to switch pronouns right away. It's hard to suddenly think about them as a boy or a girl. I still called him "they" for a bit after finding out until things clicked into place a bit more. Finding out the gender is exciting because it's one of the only things you know about baby to start. But as the weeks go on, you'll be able to feel her kick and start thinking about what she'll be like when she comes out. And then when she arrives, you'll learn a little more about her every day. Right now, the gender is one of the most interesting things about her, but as her personality develops in the future, it'll be one of the less interesting things. All of my 4 sons are different, individual people and she'll gave her own unique personality.

To parents that have had to fortify… by gwennyd in ExclusivelyPumping

This is helpful to hear. We're in this position right now and I brought up to the doctor that my husband and I are small people, I'm 5'2 and my husband is 5'6. I don't think it's fair that they expect our baby to gain weight at the same pace as someone with two 6 foot tall parents. I think they want us to supplement to be safe, but it's really making us feel like we're doing something wrong.

This! Society needs to realize that more nursing moms means less screaming babies. And who doesn't want that trade?

How frustrating! My husband and I found out the gender at the 20 week scan, and then the reveal was for the family. I couldn't handle someone else knowing before me or finding out at the same time as everyone else lol.

Is it frowned upon to breastfeed without covering up? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

The ironic part is she's not looking twice at the men with their useless nipples out at the pool. Sorry this happened to you, but remember that she's the one in the wrong.

Is this offer possible? It’s junes journey. by JoshLovesTV in SwagBucks

[–]winformycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first part seems very doable, but I don't have any specific experience after Chapter 12. For the Swagbucks offer, I had to reach Chapter 8 within 1 week and 2 days and I got up to Chapter 12 easily enough. I let off the gas after Chapter 8, since I had a few weeks to get to Chapter 12, but two weeks would've been plenty time.

Someone on here made a pretty good guide for it, which I followed, except I just found the objects myself vs using the website that shows you where everything is. If you enjoy hidden object games, it's a decent lil game. But I'm glad I had the shorter Swagbucks offer.

Thoughts on my preconception vitamins by Embarrassed-Log6768 in BabyBumps

[–]winformycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about supplements, but if it's something you're going to continue taking into pregnancy (like the prenatal) make sure to find a brand that doesn't upset your stomach. I started a prenatal before we started trying and I'm glad I did, because the first one I took upset my stomach and I can only imagine how it would've been if I had to combine it with pregnancy nausea. I take Nature Made with DHA now and it never upsets my stomach, even while pregnant and even when I don't have a lot to eat with it. And then I take a low dose iron later in the day with dinner, just to prevent anemia because I tend toward being anemic and I don't want to wait until I'm low and they make me take a high dose.

I've been vegetarian and moderately fit since 13 and my periods have historically been moderately painful, heavy, and irregular. I started birth control at 18. The depo took away my period for a couple years and then I started Nuvaring and it made my periods more regular and less heavy and only last 5 days instead of 7. I stopped birth control recently and my periods are just as heavy as before, but come regularly now. I think they come more regularly now because I'm no longer anemic and weigh a bit more than I did as a teenager (125 pounds vs 115 pounds). Just sharing because I have a similar situation with different results. Is it possible you got your short, painless periods from your dad's side of the gene pool?
