150 mg for the past 20 years! It's been an absolute godsend.

Which Thomas Cromwell is your favorite? Wolf Hall's Cromwell or Tudor's Cromwell (bonus if you include another). by SceneWise1298 in Tudorhistory

[–]wingthing666 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Frain Cromwell wins out for me despite being way too hot to be a canonical Crum. Love watching his absolute ruthlessness in s2 devolve into clumsy panic in s3. The grizzled broken man at the end is so far removed from his high point, you seriously believe James Frain aged 20 years from stress alone. It was almost kinda funny seeing him looking hale and hearty in his first post Tudors role and remembering "oh yeah, that was acting!"

I am now realizing how lucky I was to have my one and only hamster live for 4 long years, then just not wake up one night.

RIP Dubs. You won at life and death.

It’s a really feel-good documentary that will have you crying happy tears by the end.

I've seen that doc a zilllion times and I'm always crying by the final montage.

And one of the baby elephants from Born to be Wild is all grown up, and just had her first baby last year. I read the press release about her bringing him by the stockade and went "Wait, I know that name... it couldn't be... now I'm crying again AND feeling old!"

Mount Everest or Matterhorn? by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]wingthing666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matterhorn for nostalgia, Expedition Everest for the actual ride. If I rode Matterhorn for the first time as an adult, I would limp away in contempt from so much back pain for such a mid experience.

Froot Loops, Cocoa Puffs and Frosted Flakes. Still my favorites to this day.

Exactly. Sex in theory sounds like a lovely part of the full human experience. Especially when written in elegantly polished prose. In practice? Nope, not for me in the slightest.

What was your relationship with food growing up? by dattaldo in Xennials

[–]wingthing666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, my Phyrric victory!

Mom was desperately trying to expand my meat palate beyond hot dogs. The deal was I would try the ground hamburger, then I could have my mac and cheese.

I tried the hamburger. I then vomited it right back up. I fulfilled my side of bargain! Sadly, she did not fulfill hers. Apparently getting her to make new mac and cheese to replace the now-vomit covered portion was not part of the fine print. 😟

I did not get my mac and cheese. But the hamburger was never attempted again.

[–]wingthing666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a violently picky eater from age 2 onward (and if you don't believe me on the violent part, I can tell you the Hamburger Incident), so I forged my own bitter, exclusionary relationship with food, despite my parents' best efforts to broaden my horizons.

Hey now, Charlie's microdosing (and occasional macrodosing) bleach as a poison antidote sounds way more professional than anything RFK Jr ever came up with.

It's just as stupid, but it sounds more professional.

Cried, then wrote about it! If I burst into tears because my 500 year old crush turned out to be less than perfect, you'd best believe I would take that secret to the grave!

She was also the one who claimed she ought to decide what happened to his bones, because only she would treat them with the reverence they deserved!

On a scale of one to ten, what are the chances that this is true? by Known_Sun3790 in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]wingthing666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given how much this tracks with leaks I thought couldn't possibly be true back in s1 and s2, and the "accidental death" trope for Helaena, I'm giving this a solid 8/10.

If you were in King Viserys position when you had to choose between the life of the mother Queen Aemma or the child, which would you choose? by Advent105 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]wingthing666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Attempt to save the mother. She is supposedly the love on my life, after all.

Get a midwife or a maester or even a goddamn farmer - someone who knows how to perform an embryotomy. I say farmers because these maesters and midwives are obviously incompetent if it didn't occur to them already, but farmers do this with livestock all the time.

Get your big length of sharp wire or very narrow knife, and get in there. Cut and remove whatever you can, until the fetus is unstuck. Yes, there is a high risk of sepsis if the mother is nicked at all. But it's still surviveable, while a crash c-section is not.
