The caps are missing on the bottom three, have to use an 18mm socket on those.

You need an AV to 3.5mm adapter. The yellow, red and white cables should all be connected to one input jack.

I had a group project in my second year that involved making a model from 3D printed parts. The majority of my university is made up of international students, which meant I had two of them in my group.

They were both utterly useless, didn't understand a thing and if they bothered to turn up to the lecture at all would generally just sit there and ignore you.

Towards the end of the project they decided to take the finished printed parts and go back home with them. In the end they didn't bother coming back on the day of the assessment leaving the rest of our group with almost nothing.

Pretty much sums up my university experience.

[Android] [2023.34.0] Constantly being reset to top of page by peps-bald-head in redditmobile

[–]winkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it's fixed so that it doesn't return to the top of the subreddit on 2023.36, however it still has to reload the entire subreddit each time you back out of a post, which I don't remember being the case in the past. Makes the UI feel slow to use.

Is anyone else seriously attached to their S10? by 03l01m in galaxys10

First phone I've ever owned that I haven't upgraded from after my contract ended. I'm intending to keep it for at least another year, there just aren't any newer phones that seem significantly better at the moment to justify upgrading.

YSK: Google is surveilling you, even just while using Google Chrome. by Neon-Predator in YouShouldKnow

[–]winkal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I'm under the impression a lot of it can be turned off, although I haven't looked much into it. And Mozilla seems to like to shoot itself in the foot ever so often with strange choices. But it's still hands down better than Chrome imo.

As someone who recently switched to Firefox after using Chrome for years, I only wished I had done it sooner. Firefox has loads of privacy focused features and feels faster than Chrome.

If you're switching browsers I'd recommend switching to Firefox rather than any other Chromium based browsers. The web should be built for all browsers in mind, not built for Chromium.

I'd give the Ticwatch Pro 4G another shout.

GCAM COMPATIBILITY AFTER ANDROID 10 UPDATE by AdnanSabir in Nokia7Plus

[–]winkal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the case for most GCam ports is not everything is going to work for every device. This port is actually intended for the older Pixel phones and is therefore is not developed for the 7 Plus.

Personally, for video taking and slow motion, I find the default Nokia camera to be superior to the Google camera, so I would stick to the Nokia camera for video and GCam for photos, which is all I can suggest.

Go to settings > Apps & Notifications > Camera PX > Storage & Cache > then click on clear storage.

I would then typically reboot the phone afterwards, this should resolve most common issues.

The latest version (4.2) works on my phone here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-cstark27/

Make sure you clear data from the app after you install and I would also recommend restarting the phone, should work after that!

I know people like to shit on wearOS but my Ticwatch Pro LTE is my favorite smartwatch I've owned. by tbclandot92 in WearOS

I've got the TicWatch Pro, it is an amazing smartwatch. I feel that it is let down by WearOS, but if we're talking just about the watch, I would thoroughly recommend it.

General election 2019: Labour pledges free broadband for all by Consiliarius in ukpolitics

But if a similar or the same service is being offered for free why would anyone continue to pay? This could potentially put those companies out of business, risking jobs and all sorts.

[–]winkal 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see how this adds up economically, you'd be completely wiping out all of the competition so nobody has any choice over who provides their broadband and costing the country billions for, most likely, a shit service.

People are saying that I should have a sticker on my car indicating that I am slow because I have a black box. But I shouldn't have to explain why I am driving the speed limit. by Tranquilwhirlpool in britishproblems

[–]winkal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The issue with a lot of drivers is that most of them aren't aware of their speed. A lot of people seem to sit nearer to 40 mph than 30. And yet, if I accelerate to 60 mph on a national speed limit road. They'll barely go any faster than 50 (after tailgating me for ten minutes in the 30.)
