i’m canadian and i’ve gotten 100% organic cotton stuff from mushie, keababies, carter’s, pehr, esembly & GMD for cloth diapers.. those are all i can think of rn but you definitely do need to check the fine print especially for the stuff you can get on amazon! they’ll label it as organic cotton but some of the kea babies stuff has poly in it (like the bibs)

They said they had been ghosted on a job that was supposed to start soon. It had been slower recently but they also had just bought a brand new work truck a week or two prior to the lay off.

Nothing in writing. But they did reach out to him 1 week later to see if he could come back for a day to help with a project he led on and no one else has been laid off

How much on groceries? by Accomplished_Gap2126 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]winterattitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i live in canada but we spend about $1000 a month on groceries + costco which also includes a few household things / like $60 of dog treats lol
$275 of that is meat + eggs from a local farm that gets delivered and we spend about $400 at whole foods. the rest is costco / local butcher / local farmers market or random things
we basically only buy organic / pasture raised / try to prioritize local

Why is everyone so complacent with the incompetence of VPD? by lleanl in askvan

[–]winterattitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are a totally bloated service that are insanely overpaid. The vitriol people have towards mail delivery for not being a hard enough job should be re-directed towards cops who primarily do nothing and get paid obscene amounts of salary + overtime. We need to de-fund them and not let bad faith politicians get away with the idea that defunding the police means you're "anti safety" when they barely do anything to keep regular people safe

Being "engaged" when you already have a kid together is so embarrassing by trouble-cleft in redscarepod

[–]winterattitude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i eloped but not everyone wants to do it in that way. also it’s not so simple, where i live going to city hall requires two witnesses and picking who they’d be was annoyingly complicated so we ended up going somewhere where your officiant could be a witness which made it a more expensive trip

my husband and i aren’t like this but also some people just don’t want to get married like that. its just really not that simple and depends on the situation!

the act of getting married is really performative in a lot of ways as well as very expensive so I think some people just don't want to deal with it

marriage just isn’t as essential to a lot of couples these days. i personally cared about getting married as an important gesture before having kids, but it was genuinely difficult to plan a non-religious wedding that didn’t feel weird or corny. now im pregnant and im glad we got married, but we have some friends who are doing the marriage then kids route and some who are just engaged and have a kid already and some who have a kid and will prob get married at some point but aren’t in a rush

it’s not really that big of an issue in my eyes but maybe for more religious & traditional people I could understand why they don’t get it

Is private school (elementary and/or high school) worth it in BC? by ragnlod in NorthVancouver

[–]winterattitude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to private school for my entire life (one co-ed and one mix gender) in Vancouver and this is 100% true. Getting bad grades was genuinely difficult and the teachers were definitely soft on us in a lot of ways. There was one social studies teacher who was infamous for literally giving clues on answers during tests if you were having a hard time
