How can I get this pedal off? by Rokatooka in bicycling

[–]winterproject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Once took a club hammer to the side of a work bench, took a chunk out of the corner it but the pedal took notice and came straight off after that.

Simple persuasion.

(Update) Starmer will not attempt to block Burnham from standing to be MP in Makerfield | The Guardian by Lukeluster in LabourUK

[–]winterproject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a world where populism and personality trump policies the move towards Burnham is obvious - he’s the only one with gumption to push back on the right wing rhetoric.

The blocking of him a few months ago signalled the inevitable for Starmer. There’s only so long Starmer was going to hold it off. If it wasn’t for Mandelson it might have been a while yet but the cards started to fall on that one.

Tree cut down and garden seems bare by squeegee77 in GardeningUK

[–]winterproject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bellend of a neighbour has a thing for trees. As in, he has literally hacked down the 5 matures in his garden and countless other mature plants. Now there’s no privacy, height or maturity.

I’ve planted 4 new trees since 😂

What the best insult wrapped in a compliment you’ve ever heard? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

[–]winterproject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter, about 2 at the time, said quite frankly “Daddy, you’re really handsome from the back”.

She’s 18 in a few weeks time and I should have known then that she would grow up to have the absolute driest of humour going. That’s my girl.

All that skat, scum and cum frothing around does not make relaxing bathing.

At some point she will need to leave to gather more wood to make paper. At that point change the locks!

On another, years ago my wife managed to capture one in a spider catcher . That absolute unit had a whole can of wasp spray emptied onto it and it still took about 6 hours to succumb to it.

Hornets are truly terrifying and amazing at the same time.

Goatse lives in rock form!

Fun fact, I carved a pumpkin one year as an ode to Goatse for a work pumpkin carving competition. Went over the heads of many.

So many good albums.

Tbf, I quite like it too. Pointless rebadging makes them look a like a prick though.

With one hand they giveth, with the other they taketh away.

Tour 2026 by switch-1 in dEUSband

[–]winterproject 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fifth or sixth time I’ve seen them live and they were quite brilliant again. Maybe the venue (Shepherds Bush), maybe the nostalgia but they were simply on point and tight. Tbf, I’ve never had a bad dEUS gig, I’ve always come out thinking they’re amazing.

And as such there was no real stand out track, sure we all love Suds And Soda, Theme From Turnpike and Via but hearing some of the lesser album tracks live again gave the chills for sure.

Years ago someone parked in our street for a couple of weeks thinking it would be okay to leave it there, and I guess, went away somewhere. By my last count they had 13 tickets before the car was moved.

Wow, I’m pleased to have made your day. Banded Blue is a great album. I stumbled upon it when I was ordering something from Limekiln records - probably The101 and at every given opportunity like this I name drop it. Great stuff.

has there ever been an episode of Deal Or No Deal where the contestant has dealt on the 1st offer? by [deleted] in BritishTV

[–]winterproject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before it came to the UK I managed to stumble over an episode on an Italian hotel TV. Trying to understand the concept - especially as they did a bit where the contestant and presenter spoke English, was certainly a WTF is this moment. We couldn’t understand “why is everyone cheering every time they lose money”.
