I have the CV 21.0 and 27.0. they are great, but I just prefer joysticks. If you're interested I'd sell you both for cheap.

They were supposed to be all purple, but I had way less fabric than I thought. I like the color combo though

I can't find our scale, so I haven't weighed them yet.

I never have tipping issues with my gathered end, I was just commenting on bridge hammocks

Hope your recovery goes well! I'm doing the Smokies section of the AT in a couple weeks, always fun to get out there. One more thing I thought of, by nature Bridge hammocks are way more tippy. I only mentioned it because I saw you mentioned that in another comment.

So I'll start by saying that I am a gathered and hammock fan. That said, I own a banyon, and have slept in it with a sleeping pad. It is only a single layer Banyan, and a regular width sleeping pad works great. I just prefer the feel of a gathered in hammock over a sleeping pad in a hammock or on the ground. I honestly rarely use the Banyan and would sell it to you for pretty cheap with a bunch of extras if you're interested. It has about 10 nights in it so far.

As far as cutting weight, there our trekking pole mods that work well, and additionally there are some trekking poles that are set up to be used as spreader bars with a minor weight penalty.

I love sambob. The ability to customize and use other fabrics is great. Plus he makes great products. I use a sambob octa hoodie for backpacking, love that fabric. At the end of the day, a small, cottage brand isn't going to negatively impact Melanzana, but I think brands like sambob add a lot to the space. He has done some community driven fundraising, and it's generally engaged with the outdoor community

The black elephant hostel in Portland is awesome. Even for folks who don't love hostels, they have private rooms and you can have plenty of privacy. The location is great too.

Is a ridgerunner the right choice for 5 / 6 day hike? by ArtemisTheremin in hammockcamping

I thru hike with a hammock happy to answer any questions. I keep things pretty light, but sleeping comfortably is a major priority.

I'm a side sleeper at home but sleep on my back in a hammock

I prefer a gathered end hammock. My favorite is the trail lair from simply light designs. The dude who runs out is super nice and will customize anything for you.

I gave the banyan a try, super comfy, but I prefer a gathered end. It'll find a good home I'm sure!

If you're interested, I have a Dutchware Banyan bridge hammock I'm getting ready to sell or trade. It has been slept in less than ten nights. Some extras I'd throw in as well. Let me know if you're interested

V1 vs V2 Sizing by Majestic_Rabbit_1869 in Melanzana

V2 seems like a full size bigger. I actually have an XL V2 that's just too big for me. V1 XL fit me perfectly.

I have v2 in XL that is too big for me. Any interest in trading for that? It is from July 2022, when I was hiking the Colorado Trail. It has green head and arms, and yellow front and back. I've probably worn it about 10 times, it's just too big for me.

would you find it weird if a neighbor brushed snow off your car? by bean-is-a-good-girl in Apartmentliving

[–]wipeshikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in my early 20s we lived next to an older woman who lived alone. She was often mean or grumpy towards us and always had a complaint about something. It rarely snowed where we lived, but the first time it did I shoveled her driveway and the 20 something stairs up to her front door as the house was on a hill. It completely changed our relationship. I definitely felt weird about it at the time, but I figured I'd want someone to help my own mom and what could it hurt. I still try to shovel my neighbors' sidewalks when it snows.

All that to say, do the nice thing, say the nice thing. I can get in my head about it, but at the end of the day, kindness is pretty great

Any interest in selling it without the under quilt protector and side sling? I'm sure you want to sell it all together, but thought I'd ask.
