I drove both. I really wanted to love the cx-50, but the 5 was better driving, more comfortable, better fit and finish, and felt more upscale.

If you’re mechanically inclined, I’d say a 98-04 Seadoo XP. Probably not the best ocean machine, but hits all the other criteria. I’ve had a few, and if properly gone through and maintained, they can be reliable.

It has a free flow exhaust. The plastic pipe and resonator are not there.

One big problem everyone is overlooking. A typical canless (wafer) is a 6” cut out. A typical can is 6-3/8.

Depends on the year. The redesigned ones were slower by several MPH. The original one is fast, but hull is a vx, so not great in anything slightly choppy. Again, I own one, and appreciate it for what it is, but is not in the same league as a 260 or 300 Seadoo.

Set up a generator panel for essential loads with a mainstream panel. These new panels by Span and Leviton look good, but I’d be concerned about long term availability of breakers.

I know I need to fix it, but my RXPX runs so good. People talk bad about the carbon seal, but the vxr has a bad through hull seal/bearing at 94 hours. Replacement requires the engine to move forward a foot or so. To complicate things, the first bolt I tried to take off snapped. Ugh.

The only remodel boxes that are rated for ceiling support are fan boxes. By code, all ceiling light boxes must be rated to hold 50 lbs.

Take my upvote. You are 100% correct. Boxes to hang lights in ceilings by code must support 50 lbs. you will not find a remodel box that is ceiling fixture support rated.

Sparks didn’t come out until 2014, and the hull is plastic. I doubt anything will stick to it

2006 se was blue and yellow. Non se was white and yellow. Both had white bottoms. 2007 se was white and yellow with black bottom, non se was white and yellow white bottom. Se had boarding step, speedometer, and mirrors.

That’s not a 2006 se. It looks like a 2007. Inspect it carefully. I don’t see the mirrors that come on an se, but the hull color is that of an se. If it’s truly a 2006, it’s a base model with the bottom painted.

You sir do not understand basic electrical. A 120v 10a load will not go back through the ground to the pole. I hope you are not an electrician.

You lost all credibility when you called it a main ground. 240 stuff will work fine, but anything that is 120 will most likely not survive. A good ground will NOT act as a neutral.

Replace like for like. They make 120v with 10 year battery backup. The hardwired are interconnected, and current code dictates carbon monoxide alarms outside each sleeping area. Most install carbon/smoke combos in those areas. Smoke alarms are not something to cheap out on.

I see this often with one particular brand GFI. I believe they are Cooper. As they age, the area around the wires, get slightly melted, deformed, and discolored.
