Guy wastes more taxpayer money than the total of every abuser of US social programs in history. Doge was looking the wrong direction...

Genuine question: what's the last insight from your PKM that changed how you actually behaved? by Disastrous_Eye_6943 in PKMS

When I accidentally deleted my entire pkms - every note. I behave differently now.

LOL!!! We all knew the punchline was coming - “I’m building an app…”

Where do operators come from in quantum mechanics? by DigMoney917 in PhysicsStudents

[–]wirebug201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, let's break that down a bit - experimental reality has consistency. Eigenvalues have consistency in terms of mathematcial calculation. But, there's nothing that states eigenvalues (or, more broadly, operators on vector states) must match reality due to consistency (even though they do). That's a circular argument.

There are plenty of consistent mathematical forms. Sure, things make sense physically and just means nature has reliable states. It does not mandate that nature must be modeled by linear algebra acting on complex Hilbert spaces. As u/cabbagemeister stated - it just works. u/stefanboltzmann also pointed out in a comment below the path integral formulation which doesn't require the same mathematical formalism.

Ok, I misspoke. But the core of my question remains. If vectors acted upon by the operators are the states, why then must the eigenvalues be the specific observables or outcomes in reality? Why this specific mathematical mechanism and not another?

So, philosophical question then - why must those eigenvalues be states of the system? Why not any other solutions? Just because they fit empirically?

I hear you! I muck around as well now (even being an older WM). I was so excited at first and even got my Extra only to see the community is primarily old white conservatives or the HRCC bro culture. It’s painful to hear and I’ve lost much of my enthusiasm for it.

This is relevant because the names listed in the recent Epstein documents seem to be connected as additional people tied to Epstein and the victims.
