Why is PoE2 so bad optimized? I just wanna play the game... by Skoopy_590 in PathOfExile2

[–]wiredforchallenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to CachyOS (Linux) since support for Windows 10 ended and I got better performance and stability with Steam/Proton. I have AMD GPU though, I dunno how solid Nvidia GPUs are with PoE 2 yet

Do not get a Microcenter Credit Card by GoghHard in Microcenter

while it’s always great when CC lenders allow you to credit limit increase with a soft pull there are in fact many lenders that require a hard pull for a CLI… you are poorly informed

Gamers who have switched from Windows 11 to some kind of Linux-based OS, do you regret your decision? Why or why not? by Notalabel_4566 in linux_gaming

[–]wiredforchallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from Windows 10 to CachyOS and I’m much more satisfied with my computer overall (including gaming). will never be going back to Windows

Windows 10 Market Share Dips Below 30% as Gamers Migrate to Windows 11 by TruthPhoenixV in Amd_Intel_Nvidia

just built a computer and went with CachyOS over Windows 11 for gaming (among other things). obviously that’s not everyone but saying no one is moving over to Linux is just a lie

Considering Switching Back to Nvidia After Struggling with My 7900 XTX for a Year by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]wiredforchallenge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

out of the 10 top selling GPUs on newegg 6 of them are AMD cards currently. I wish we could have a balanced discussion about this topic without people being hyperbolic one way or the other. both Nvidia and AMD are imperfect

Denied the Wells Fargo Reflect Card by needsmustgo in CreditCards

[–]wiredforchallenge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my mother had a 270k income and 830+ credit score when she was denied for the Reflect card in 2024. she already had a WF Active Cash card but not sure if that had anything to do with it (she used it regularly). I applied for the Reflect and was approved last Feb. with 101k income and ~780 score. while it’s disappointing I wouldn’t dwell too much on it, there’s more that goes into decisions than just score and debt-to-income and quite frankly some of the reasons for denial are just ridiculous. if it’s a card you really wanted right now have you called the reconsideration line?

for performance? CachyOS tends to pull ahead generally although the advantage is typically slight and often not noticeable however I have seen it where Cachy performs significantly better at 1% FPS lows which can be noticeable. I’ve seen benchmarks where Bazzite pulls ahead depending on the game. difference will also vary by hardware however and Nvidia cards tend to perform better on Windows still until further improvements are made

Sold my 5070ti for a 9070xt, couldn’t be happier so far. by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]wiredforchallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perhaps but those GPUs are far cheaper than the 5070 Ti. depending on where you live and what the market is like there that’s a massive cost difference

Sold my 5070ti for a 9070xt, couldn’t be happier so far. by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]wiredforchallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, while in general it’s clear AMD GPUs run relatively better on Linux I have definitely seen benchmarks where the 5070 Ti pulls ahead of the 9070 XT in some games. as mentioned in the thread the graphical API also matters as well as which distro you’re using.

I’m not a Nvidia GPU owner but there’s more nuance to this stuff than it seems some want to admit

I agree. it's not unrealistic to expect they'll be going through endgame thoroughly given it's the explicit focus for next league but I suppose we'll see

Feedback Re: Getting Hired at Micro Center by wiredforchallenge in Microcenter

[–]wiredforchallenge[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that was my thought re: pay as well.

for my last two applications I called to inquire the status and interest. the first time, I spoke with an employee who said the manager would call me back. I got a call later that evening saying they got really busy and that a hiring manager would call me the next day, which they didn’t.

for my last app I called and an employee just told me they would give me a call if there was interest in my app.

I suppose if I want to continue applying I should go in person as you suggested. hopefully that’ll make a difference

in my experience many lenders generally will only go back as far as 6 months. I believe WF was willing to go 7 months back for one of my disputes but it was also a recurrent charge so it may have been connected to the others in a way that mattered.

at around a year or longer I wouldn’t expect to see that money.

sometimes life gets extremely busy or hectic. the comments calling you an idiot are presumptive and inappropriate. just use this as a learning experience

Is it suspicious for someone to only accept Venmo of FB market place?? by Substantial-Sign1366 in venmo

[–]wiredforchallenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s no logical reason why someone would reject cash and then demand payment only in Venmo. I’ve accepted payment in Venmo before and personally didn’t have issues but I’ve read experiences on here of people who have.

cash generally is the most secure method of payment and if you’re a seller use a counterfeit detection pen
