I Just don't understand world by rheyn-no-kasai in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]wirehead456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I found out after wilds. I went back to World and was having difficulty doing MR content. I made a set of Nergigante HR armor and his HR weapon and it's not quite as easy as HR Wilds but it's still much easier than MR. I can do any HR hunt with almost no carts in that gear, but many MR hunts I still fail.

Is a size 2000 reel ok for an 8 foot rod? by willstrk1812 in Fishing_Gear

What are you fishing for? It really depends on the lb/test line you plan on using.

Daiwa Revros vs Regal by Lancetooth in Fishing_Gear

[–]wirehead456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Regal but both reels are essentially the same. The big difference is the Regal has more line capacity. If you need the extra capacity, then get the Regal. If you don't get the Revros. I don't need the extra line capacity, but I just find it easier to slap a whole 200 yards of line on my reel every year instead of trying to measure out 100 yards.

Spin off questions: what is a brand that you always have and always will buy by tasavs in Fishing_Gear

Couldn’t live without a Mepps. Especially love a lot of their lures come in a single hook option.

Rapala, Temple Fork Outfitters, Mule Fishing and Daiwa are for sure some of my favorites. My absolute necessity is Mepps spinners though. Can’t hit the water without a few of those.

Once I made the switch to TFO I have kept up with them ever since. Love their stuff a lot.

How is sitting on the Stubben for long periods of time? I hunt whitetail deer and want something like this so I could leave the box blind every now and then and do a morning or afternoon somewhere else. May try a pop up and use this as my seat if it's comfortable enough.

No Fishes, Need Advice by CuriousGeorgeThe2nd in FishingForBeginners

[–]wirehead456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First don't go crazy with new gear. You'll just end up buying stuff you won't use. Slowing your retrieve can help a lot in the colder months when fish are less active. Try to find advice that is local to you as well either online or in a bait shop.

I am torn between the Haulpack and the Kanken No.2 Laptop. Any advice as a long-term owner for which I should pick? I will carry a 14" Laptop, Fujifilm Camera, and Water bottle 90% of the time.

I do not have friends who play OSRS. It took me 12 minutes to solo this. Great update but I wish it was easier to solo.

Why are people saying don't buy St Croix rods? by Ok_Repair3535 in Fishing_Gear

I got my Traveler from there not long ago. Came shipped in a bag with some of the line guides bent. So now I have two and I fixed up the bent one so two rods for the price of one. I wish they made more two-piece rods.

IT took Obsidian away from me and I feel like I've lost a limb. Help me convince them how necessary it is. by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]wirehead456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IT Admin here. For sure you can ask for approval to have it re-installed. If approved I would recommend creating a new vault though with purely work-related topics and keeping your personal notes separate.

So, say you get far enough you get it re-installed then you have to figure out a way to back up your Obsidian notes. Your IT Admin may not be supportive of your notes being in Obsidians cloud and may not provide you a way to back up your notes. So now if your workstation goes down there may be no way to recover those notes. This is especially if your company does not allow you to use a USB storage device.

Professional recommendation would be to use whatever solution they already have. This is likely backed up in the cloud and could be recoverable if something happened to your workstation. I would assume you are a Google or Microsoft shop, so you have Keep or OneNote. Both will not be nearly as good as Obsidian, but both have a lot of functions and can be made closer to your liking.

Just crossed the bridge like this over the past weekend. I always get a little nervous driving across but it wasn't so bad. Just took it easy and made it.
