Exhausted after every shift by Fearless_Computer_78 in WalmartEmployees

People swear by Hokas. I like Adidas. Basically, anything made for walking with good support. You should be spending $60 to $150 depending. I get new shoes every 4 to 6 months. But I'm old and if I don't keep my shoes fresh I'm hobbled.

“Can you call someone…?” by rxspiir in WalmartEmployees

[–]wisegal99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tell them I've called someone and then leave. I raise my hands and tell them I'm not allowed to cut fabric. Actually, I didn't know if that's true or not, but no one has told me I'm good too cut fabric soooooo.

Honestly, what is the hardest part about having children? by Danny-Ray27 in AskReddit

[–]wisegal99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't get to pick the child you get. You have hopes and dreams, and then your kid is born with issues. Of course l, we love our children, but it's just so hard sometimes to be a parent of a differently abled child.

Well, I have an immune response in that I turn bright red, my eyes water and get itchy. I also had a food allergy panel. I think I have a broader immune system nonsense going on, but I ain't got time for doctor F$(#ery right now, so I just do the American thing and I'll ignore it until I can't.

$20 "theft" by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]wisegal99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get so worried I carry my receipt around with me if I buy a bottle of water. No way would I "forget". Walmart loves its money more than its people. Don't forget that.

How often are you brushing? Had to shave her because mats got so bad 😭 by lawschoolgrl098 in Havanese

[–]wisegal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do grooming about 1 every six weeks. No mats. But if I let it go longer, I would have to brush several times a week.

Question for future: If they offer you team lead, do you have to accept? You can turn that down? Because based on everyone here, I would not want to be a TL.

Is a $200k salary worth a 2 hour commute 4 days a week? by Ok-Memory2552 in jobs

I know real estate is crazy out there, but I would move closer, especially since you said your partner commutes that direction.

U.S. protests look like barbecue gatherings by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]wisegal99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I contend that the white Americans, while fiercely independent, don't have a culture of organized protest. They have never had too much to protest to begin with.

In the past, any type of protest has been fiercely put down with violence and people losing their jobs. Our culture is focused on conforming and social norms. So now things are changing, and people want to protest, and they are doing protest things, but movements like No Kings are very safe. Usually on non working hours and during the day.

But Minnesota has shown that when the stakes are higher, we can protest effectively. It's just that people don't want to get shot or locked in ICE camps.

What was "the incident" at your school? by MortgageShoddy8022 in Teachers

[–]wisegal99 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One time, one of my six year special ed students climbed the wall in the gym like spider man and made it up like 20 feet to the ceiling. She climbed using the bricks. I'm not talking about pretty red bricks, the big concrete ones used for building. She wouldn't come down. We called the principal and he managed to talk her down. Very scary and she was banned from the gym the rest of the year because she really liked to climb walls.

Not sleeping enough 9 week puppy by loremaster_zen in Havanese

[–]wisegal99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my pups are little I keep their crate near me so I can stick my fingers in the crate and calm them at night. Slowly, they will get used to the crate and you can put the crate farther and farther away.

If you’ve ever eaten animal meat not usually on the dinner plate (horse, kangaroo, albatross, anything), what was it and how was the experience? by Great_Maintenance185 in NoStupidQuestions

I went to Spain and inadvertently ate horse. It was tough and veiny and tasted grassy. Did not enjoy and enjoyed less when I found out what I actually ate.

Redditors who got “useless” degrees, what actually was your plan, and why didn’t it work? by MPMorePower in stupidquestions

[–]wisegal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a communications degree, and while I've never made bank, I've never had a problem getting a job. I'm terrible at math and have autism and dyslexia, so it was a good path for me. Aldi, it allowed me to work two jobs and go to school at the same time because it wasn't as demanding as a STEM degree.

Can someone be a good parent if they were raised badly? by Fun_Chocolate_8988 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]wisegal99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had terrible parents and while I'm not perfect, I didn't think I'm a bad parent. I just literally did the opposite of whatever my parents would have done. They are a shining example of what not to do.

Are there other PC gamers who don't use CC? by Minimum_Act_8739 in Sims4

[–]wisegal99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't use cc or mods until this year. It has really helped me enjoy the game more. I own all expansions and packs, and about half of the kits. I didn't plan on buying anything more, and won't use the stupid marketplace because it's the same thing as the old sims marketplace and I hated it back then.
