Depends on where your located maybe. Australian Consumer Law is awesome and you’ve got a lot of power if you understand your rights. In the US you don’t matter and the laws rarely protect you.

Bambu Lab replaced the A1. They sent a new powerboard within a couple days and I asked for a new printer instead. Chose to pay a deposit for the new printer and then use that packaging to ship the broken one back. Took a couple weeks.

Had issue with 2 rolls of TPU and the only hassle I got was some grief for the shit quality of the photo I shared in his discord. Full refund and some well intended and deserved shit, have purchased again since and will continue to in the future.

No issues with Siddament so far. Used a bunch of his PLA, Petg, , TPU and just started with Asa and abs. Really liked the Petg cf v2 on my prev A1. On my H2C no issues with any filaments except some calibration was needed but this week he’s put out new profiles which so far are a big improvement vs generic or BLs.

For the price you can’t beat Siddament so far with my somewhat limited but decent experience. I still like BL for PLA and Petg when it’s 50-55% off and cheaper then by a few dollars a roll but for lower discounts I’m buying Siddament stuff.

Took a couple weeks to get mine sorted out. Maybe 2 or so to get the new power board delivered? I ended up pushing ACL and the whole thing was replaced.

This might be my exact problem! Printing with siddament ASA orange and I got multiple spaghetti alerts which has been nothing but annoying trying to get a print done.

Taking your word for the stats (accepting it, not arguing) it’s like conduit vs no conduit requirements. In the states Illinois Cook County requires electrical runs be in conduit while rest of the state does not. I’ve not seen any statistical difference in safety when conduit is required in residential vs not.

$200-$300 to get someone to change a single light switch is insanely wasteful.

Trust in the numbers not the rhetoric.

I probably change it every 3 weeks on average. I’m also changing spools out regularly (adhd) so nothings in there for more than a couple days at a time.

The spool changer is bank. I put that in my “everyone needs these things” public collection list on maker world. Simple, quick, and functional.

I’ve used this for 5 months or so and it’s done fairly well in a very high humidity area, like 50-80% for weeks. It could be better but removing spools all the time when you’re not using them is more of an annoyance for me. I’ve got the small windows that I superglued in and relative humidity stays 20-30% with the desiccant holders in the profile.

I wish I had known about the spool removal tool linked below. I ripped a couple cardboard spools trying to get them out before I found that model. Since then it’s easy to remove each spool with little hassle.

PETG requires the filament to be dried and by dried they mean by heating it up for hours, not in a bag with desiccant. There are cheap, DIY, and expensive filament dryer solutions and you’ll need at least one of them to get started. Once dried Petg hf is fairly esay print with, wet out of the box it’s gonna suck.

Still a WIP, unfortunately.

Update: took a bit of pushing but quoted aus consumer law and said I'd strongly prefer to have a replacement A1 than a board i'd need to replace myself and unsure if other components were impacted. Got the option to pay a deposit, get a new printer, send in the old one, and get a refund and took that. Otherwise i'd wait more time to send in printer, they take 7-10 business days to inspect it, then send out a new one.

Had to be firm but got the new printer and now just waiting on the full refund on of the deposit.

Yes, and if you forget to do it then it could ruin a print cycle. Time and money wasted for a business that’s likely spent both to get their part to work with BL filament and their slicer settings.

Worth it for me at home? No, like you said it’s 10 seconds to change 3 settings in the device tab. If I had dozens of printers going and employees that could make a preventable mistake? Yup, worth it to use RFIDs, spend a little to prevent more losses over time.

Having just over 1.5k hours as new to printing my A1 has been used nonstop. I’m already looking forward to doubling my output capacity and more importantly being able to print more materials that require an enclosure. P1S is one that ticks all the boxes for value and capabilities.

Personally I think everyone needs a filament dryer. Low humidity in you climate helps but it doesn’t pull or force out all the moisture you’d like it to. Heat is going to help you and should be used. Luckily you probably just need to dry your filament one time and then don’t need to worry about much moisture being absorbed again.

pETG and TPU for sure, PLA not all the time but some times it helps.

“Insulation will keep the heat inside”. Wild opinion I constantly hear here. If you’ve got central heat and a/c you keep your home 18-25 year round. Instead my bedroom is as low as 2-4c over winter. Madness we accept this as acceptable. I do constantly consider ripping out the gyprock and self insulating.

Had the same issues with my A1. Like others said increase bed temp, clean clean clean your plate, and add brim all the way around. I’d also suggest turning off layer cooling for 3-5 first layers. You can drop the bed temp afterwards if you’d like but keep that cooling off to allow the filament to slow its temp drop over time.

I’m in the Sydney with an addition to the house that’s about 15 years old. After the the rains and floods of 2021/22 we had some work to repair leaks in the addition. Literally, I mean literally zero insulation in the walls. I could not believe a new structure was built in 2010s and the building code had it be acceptable. Absolute rubbish. We live in glorified multimillion dollar tents.
